Never known anyone to keep leftover takeaway for the next day until DP - always thought it was a one night treat. Think it's a bit odd - is it?

Curry is a billion times nicer the next day!!!

Awkwarddough Fri 14-Aug-20 20:20:54

Left over takeaway is awesome!! We save curry, pizza and Chinese and argue about who gets it!!

CatAnnoyance Fri 14-Aug-20 20:20:58

Why?! If there's leftovers we always plate it up and put it in the fridge. Makes a nice lunch the day after - or a nice breakfast if I'm hungover grin

QuacksInTheDark Fri 14-Aug-20 20:21:10

No weirder than saving any other leftovers.

Gunpowder Fri 14-Aug-20 20:21:10

No! It’s not weird it’s amazing. Just be meticulous about storing and reheating, particularly the rice.

LittleBearPad Fri 14-Aug-20 20:21:35

Tbf curry will be better the next day. There’s a yummy Nigella one and she suggests making it the day before and reheating

Perfectly normal in this house

Coldilox Fri 14-Aug-20 20:21:48

I hate wasting food. And leftover curry is the food of the gods.

Roominmyhouse Fri 14-Aug-20 20:21:50

I always eat most of my curry so wouldn’t have enough to keep it. But we often have leftover Chinese or pizza the following day. Not weird at all!

ludothedog Fri 14-Aug-20 20:22:34

I always buy extra to have the next day blush

NeedToKnow101 Fri 14-Aug-20 20:23:12

You're weird! Always save some for the next day!

hammeringinmyhead Fri 14-Aug-20 20:23:31

I used to save some, with some rice ans a bombay potato or 2, and have it the next day. So good. Now I tend to eat it all the night it arrives!

FromEden Fri 14-Aug-20 20:23:38

Its weird that you think its weird tbh. Do you not keep any leftovers ever? Why would curry or takeaway be any different than those? Pizza is particularly delicious the next day!

ClickandForget Fri 14-Aug-20 20:23:41

Compulsory in this house. Great for Sunday brunch.

ilovesooty Fri 14-Aug-20 20:23:47

Perfectly normal. Not at all weird.

fairydustandpixies Fri 14-Aug-20 20:24:08

Curry is always best for breakfast the next day! Not the rice though, avoid the rice!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius Fri 14-Aug-20 20:24:20

Leftover Chinese is food of the gods. Reheated fried rice and reheated plain noodles, with soy sauce - delicious.

And yes, I know that rice can be hazardous if reheated, but I am always careful about cooling it and reheating it really well, and I’ve never been ill.

PleasantVille Fri 14-Aug-20 20:24:21

This isn't a serious post is it?

No-one is so naive that they don't know pretty much everyone eats curry the next day are they?

Apologies OP if you are from a different culture or grew up in a different country but surely every English person knows this.

Wilsonscaresme Fri 14-Aug-20 20:24:52

99% normal. YABU.

PrincessPain Fri 14-Aug-20 20:25:05

We just always eat it all the first day, no matter how much we buy 😳

Winterwoollies Fri 14-Aug-20 20:25:06

Would you just chuck it in the bin, OP??? Criminal.

ScorpioSphinxInACalicoDress Fri 14-Aug-20 20:25:08

I make curry and freeze half. Surely that's no different?
