To think she’s making this up?

A friend of mine (not close, just someone I know through a hobby and on fb) has got a reborn doll. She claims this is part of a clinical trial to help with her endometriosis... She basically treats it like a real baby, buys clothes for it all the time etc. She says it may or may not have hormones in it that could help with endometriosis, some have real hormones that she would absorb and some are placebo dolls. Having googled this I can find no reference to any such research but she claims it’s all hush hush. I think she’s bought the doll and is making the whole thing up. Maybe I shouldn’t care but I can’t bare bullshitters and she really goes to town on social media about how her Consultant said this that and the other. Anybody heard of such a thing? I also thought clinical trials had to be on a public register but no sign of this one.
