Hairdresser messed my hair up

I had my hair done on Saturday and she has messed it up I had some extensions put in the front as it's quite thin but my hairline looks really far back.

I sent some pictures and she said they lady that does them doesn't have any upcoming bookings so she won't be in until she gets one probably friday.

I didn't notice it at first soon as I got in the car OH noticed it. Now I'm getting stressed out.

She is my usual hairdresser and I like her but I can't wait until Friday for her to come back so I demand my money or half back what can I do.

I feel like I'm always to nice to people and everyone just takes the piss I don't know whether to stand my ground or just wait it out.

Is there anyone else in the salon who does extensions?

Sorry I'm struggling to understand what's wrong tbh. If you cant wait til Friday phone them again and say you need it sorted quicker.

Sorry you feel bad about your hair.
I don't really understand what is wrong .Yet I do know what is like not to want to leave your hairdresser.
Is it possible you can sort something,?

Sorry I keep looking at it and getting worked up even more so I'm just rambling lol.

No one else does extensions in the salon only the one lady who I normally go to and she doesn't go into work unless she has a booking. I text them asking if she can fix it but they don't know when she will be in next but they said probably Friday.

OH took a photo of me earlier and my hair looked awful and I have a job interview Wednesday I know I can wait until Friday but I look absolutely ridiculous and I would rather go and get someone else to sort it tomorrow but it's a lot of money going to waste.

Surely waiting until Friday isn't the end of the world, for something you didn't even notice yourself whilst sat in front of a mirror for hours?

I've had extensions many times. They take a long time to be put in, can only be done by a specialist and need to be arranged in advance. Needing to wait 4 days to have them changed doesn't seem that unreasonable.

And if she's done the labour, ordered / used the materials etc then half off because you dislike the placement (in retrospect) isn't fair.

Say it’s not quite what you expected it does seem quite far back don’t you think? Could you maybe sort that out for me ? Thanks. And if she effed up your hair she needs to be give a chance to fix it anyway, if you trust that this was a one off brain-fart day!

Could you share a photo or find one off google? It's hard to visualise what you mean? Extensions for volume would go under existing hair surely? So not sure how it would effect your hairline

I think you can take them out yourself with nail polish remover (acetone).

Sorry I can’t understand from your post what is wrong. Without seeing a pic I think you should wait the 4 days to see her in person and see what she can do.

A text wont get an urgent response. Phone them first thing, your hairdresser may not have even been told and maybe upset a regular customer is unhappy.

I would wait until Friday to get it sorted.

I would say your hair getting fixed is an appointment and ask them to phone her in.

Sorry you're upset OP. Bad haircuts can really knock someone's confidence out (although most other people barely notice them!). If I understand well, you're mostly feeling embarrassed about your upcoming interview?

That may sound far-fetched, but maybe consider a backup plan for your hair, like a nice wig, or a headband or a scarf, to cover the bit you don't like? The most important thing is for you to feel confident and in control for your interview. What your hair precisely looks like is a detail.

The salon need to contact her urgently and she needs to come in to fix it. You ARE the appointment.

What do you mean your hairline looks quite far back? If you didn’t even notice it while you were there then it can’t be that big of a deal...

BluebellForest836 · 03/08/2020 22:12

Do you have a picture of the problem?

I had a bad cut/dye job recently too. My salon, which I’ve gone to for years and spent thousands at, hasn’t even responded to my email Confused so I feel for you.

I agree that it’s hard to picture how extensions can make your hairline look farther back, unless you had a wig service? Are they too tight perhaps? A pic would be interesting, maybe we can suggest how to hide it at your interview.

But it’s fine if you don’t want to post one, really hope you’re able to get it fixed soon!

She doesn’t come in unless she has a booking. Ok, well they should be putting you down as a booking this week to sort your hair out!

If you are really unhappy you should phone them first thing tomorrow and tell them it needs to be sorted out. However without showing us a pic, none of us can tell you how bad it is. I don't understand how having extensions can make your hairline look as if its too far back.

Will she even be able to fix it on Friday? If she's with another client she will be too busy.

If it's a refund then why can't this be done by the salon?

I feel for you, I really do! I asked my hairdresser for a warm chocolate brown colour, with a very small hint of red. Showed them a pic and everything. While having the dye washed out the girl asked what made me go red??? End result was flipping purple!! Over £100!!
Go you for demanding they either fix or reimburse. I'm a wimp, I'll probably just go elsewhere to get it fixed. Another £100

I have had a crap hair cut/style too. I am gutted and it has really knocked my confidence. You are not being unreasonable to ring first thing and say it's urgent that she sorts it for your interview FlowersGin

Just wait a couple of days until they can sort it. If it had to be pointed out to you when you'd been literally staring at yourself in the mirror it can't be that dramatically bad.

Report
cultkid · 04/08/2020 01:36

find her on social media and contact her

If she's made a mistake she needs to fix it tomorrow so you can go to the job interview without being hysterical
Are they hurting? Can you show me? Are they tape ones? You can spray acetone on them unpeel tapes and then leave them out

I would want a refund if she's made such a mess

But how does the hair line look high?

Report
Thisismytimetoshine · 04/08/2020 01:38

She hasn't moved your hairline, op. Certainly not backwards... It's not possible unless she shaved some off.
