AIBU?

To report this person to their employer for hate speech?

I've attached a screenshot - I am not friends with this person. She does however display her work on social media and she is in her uniform with her lanyard on display in her profile picture and in other photos which are accessible to the public.

It's NHS Values Week and I feel very strongly that if you're going to publically display your workplace you need to be responsible in not making such racist and hateful comments.

I called her out on it and the post has now been deleted.

AIBU to call the HR department and complain, or should I leave it and hope that she thinks carefully before she posts in future?

To report this person to their employer for hate speech?

I dislike cancel culture and trying to get people fired, even if their have terrible views. Report it to the social media platform and move on

I wouldn’t. You already called her out and she was ashamed enough to delete so maybe it’ll give her pause next time.

Of course being a massive racist is linked to someone’s professional behaviour!

I'm not sure whats the most atrocious. The views of that person or the font you have decided to have on your phone.

Report her. Its about time people realised their actions have consequences

This is an NHS worker??

I would send her s message suggesting she take the post down in case she is reported for being racist and then block her. I wouldn’t make her unemployed.

“Gizmo79Why do you want this person to be fired? They are allowed to make comments on SM same as anyone else. If they behaved inappropriately at work then that would be different , but this is not in anyway linked to their professional behaviour.
Just no.”

Do most employers not have a social media policy about bringing the organisation into disrepute? If she’s NHS like the post indicates she certainly will.

OP I’m going against the grain and saying I would report. people in clinical roles that involve caring for others shouldn’t be bigots or else it could translate into the care (or lack thereof) provided.

Adults having consequences for their actions isn’t cancel culture.

The cancel culture has got to stop.

You called her out on it and she took the post down. Why do you want her to lose her job?

Sort your font out.

You were right to call her out on such a disgusting racist comment.

I'm not sure about reporting her to HR. If she's wearing an identifiable landyard then it could be argued that it's a disciplinary offence because it would be bringing her workplace into disrepute.

I think that if I knew that she was likely to get a written warning then I might but I wouldn't want to risk being responsible for her losing her job no matter how scummy she is.

You want someone to loose their job and possibly their entire career because they have horrible views? Why not engage and educate instead ? what is this? Stalinist Russia!!!! I think you are worse than she is !

@MadameButterface - I get where you are coming from, but if she displays no racist behaviour at work, then why HR involved in an out of work issue. People are allowed private lives. Myself- I would just defriend her and tell her why.

Of course it does. A persons thoughts influence their actions. I cannot imagine this person gives the same level of care to people she so dislikes that she does to her other patients

No you’ve called her out on it now, op.
There’s zero need to ruin her life.
Why are people so obsessed with getting others fired.

I'd report, actually.

What's this fucking obsession with reporting people? Yes her views are appalling, but what's it got to do with her workplace?

She is totally wrong and very stupid to post such views while also displaying her workplace all over her profile. Seen it a lot lately. Someone I know works in a school and regularly posts stuff like this. Imo there's no place for racism in our schools and hospitals so if you feel strongly about it then report her. Interestingly most people on here told me to absolutely report when I posted similar about someone who worked in a school.

How would you feel. If you did report her for having an opinion (and that’s all it is an opinion). She lost her job and then did the unspeakable.
