To perform acupuncture on myself?

I suffer terribly with myofascial pain and acupuncture has been recommended. It looks simple enough and I've studied the pressure points.

I can order my own dry needles for £10 and do it myself or continue to suffer for weeks on end and then pay over £50 which I could do with saving atm.

DH thinks I'm being ridiculous and am going to end up with a paralysed face

It’s not dangerous, I don’t think. But you can’t just read up on this stuff on google and wing it. If you believe it will work, pay the money to have it done properly.

Part of the experience is being able to relax. I don’t think that’s possible if you are balancing in front of the mirror trying to jab needles into yourself.

I would look to see if you have anywhere offering training near you as schools tend to offer lower rates. Or see if someone can offer a concessionary rate.

Have you tried a cranial osteopath? My osteopath does a lot of myofascial work and she’s only £35.

Thank you for the reply! No I haven't tried an osteopath.. I'm going to look that up momentarily though
