AIBU?

To want to share my unhealthy tea (dinner I suppose)

Re-heated chip shop chips left over from earlier today (DC tea), a pie, baked beans with a smidgen of chilli sauce, a bit of gravy and some vintage cheddar grated on top. Will probably have some lettuce too because we are weird and like lettuce/spinach with hot food.
Let the Envy (not envy) commence!

I was totally with you until the lettuce!

Saying that.. I do love how lettuce goes all wilty in a burger so maybe I should try this too.

Nope! And I have some weird combos!

@LoseLooseLucy when I was a child we always had fish and chips on a Friday, the next day the reheated (under the grill we didn’t have a microwave in those days) always tasted better that first time around. Try it, a chip butty with next day chip shop chips are the best. Honestly!

I like lettuce and hot food too. Nothing better than lasagne on top of green salad.

Chips and gravy is always good, addition of a pie can never be bad, and cheese just makes it poutine.

My favourite use of leftover chip shop chips is to make them into an omelette, which is just a tortilla really.

But if you want a proper unhealthy tea, it's a couple of big gin and tonics and a sharing bag of crisps. Beans, salad, eggs etc are proper food after all.

You lost me at the reheated chip shop chips, that’s grim...

Sounds lovely, obviously terrible for your waistline 😆

What's with all the gravy haters? I'd be mortally offended if you didn't put gravy on this meal. Must all be southerners.

Have you nowt moist?

Sounded lovely til you said reheated chips. They are horrible. I love chip shop chips - but they just taste like cardboard if you reheat them.

Snooks1971 · 27/06/2020 20:23

Please people re the re-heated chips! They LOOK like cardboard when cold but trust me on this, a quick blast in the microwave and they are back to their full fat loveliness. I’m not a martyr honest!

Waste not, want not. Saves wasting the chips, just make sure they are reheated properly. Then eat what You want! I have salad cream with steak & kidney pud...so there!

@BarbaraofSeville ooh omelette with the left over chips... that’s for tomorrow.
I’ve already the big gin and tonics (if you can’t already tell).

I don't know whats worse, reheated chips or beans AND gravy. Dirty!

Report
DaphneFanshaw · 27/06/2020 20:30

Hmm I love salad and hot food.
No way I would through gravy into the mix though.
Definitely no salad cream.
No amount of gin will make that right.

I need to edit my title to say dirty tea rather than unhealthy tea, I’m blaming my choice of description of said tea on the gin.

Ah no, I thought you were serious but then you went and tried to add salad cream in to the mix.

If you are serious, perhaps this is one of those dirty meals pregnant ladies have (I've had 3 DC and no way have I at any point put beans and gravy together!)

Report
Hoppinggreen · 27/06/2020 20:34

That sounds really awful. Not from a health point of view but gravy and beans together
