My boobs are awful

I'm 20 months in to breastfeeding. Before I got pregnant was a 32 C/D cup. Pregnancy saw me go up to a 34DD. I am now a 34 GG. My boobs just didn't stop growing and are now absolutely enormous. I look down and can't even see my nipples anymore as they point to the floor. I am anxious about what they'll look like once I stop breastfeeding. I am so down about it. I can't wear the clothes I used to love and just hide away under baggy tshirts.

I guess I'm still not used to them. GG really is big for my waist size, and they're not a 'good' big.

Did anyone else experience this after breastfeeding? Should I prepare for them to be awful once I stop?

Will also add that one is significantly bigger than the other and this bothers me too...

As your post is getting pushed lower and lower i thought I’d bump it up for you to see it it sparks any replies.

I'm also bumping for you as I'm really interested in the replies. Usually im a size 10 with 32F boobs so they normally look huge. I'm getting serious anxiety worrying about how big they are going to get and if they'll go back to normal after?

Bumping for you.
I’ve not had kids. But my friends / sister’s boobs seem to be back to normal size a fee years on after having a baby. Don’t worry I expect they will shrink if the rest of you has stayed more or less the same size x

Are you wearing the right bras? With proper support you should be able to wear the tops you like.

I’ve been breastfeeding for 15 months and mine got bigger during pregnancy but not grown since then. I’m also 34GG but was 34E before pregnancy so they’re in proportion. Feeding bras don’t tend to be very exciting and there aren’t masses of options at this size but I’ve got a handful of decent ones which support and give me a nice shape.

I don’t know what’ll happen to them when I stop feeding!

@Maureenthecat I dread to think what they'd look like if they shrunk back to the size they were before!

@AnneLovesGilbert they're properly fitted bras from bravissimo. Did really well, but I just can't wear strappy tops or anything fitted anymore. Probably my own insecurities causing that though.

Do you worry about strappy tops because your bra straps are thicker than the straps?

Sorry you’re feeling so low. Has feeding been a positive experience?

chromeo · 24/06/2020 23:33

@AnneLovesGilbert partly that, but mainly because my boobs just look so massive in them. They're so saggy too.

Feeding has been amazing. I love it so much. I dread stopping.

I’m breastfeeding my 2nd. I was a D/DD before and although quite a decent size, they weren’t too saggy and looked pretty good if I do say so myself Smile

2 kids later they are awful. They look like comedy 70s boobs - that’s the only way I can describe them. Like ski slopes. Saggy and flat at the top but still quite big at the bottom.

I also have old woman cleavage now too.

I’m actually thinking about a boob job at some point. Although I am stuck between wanting one for vanity and also wanting to accept my body as it is and loving it for the 2 healthy babies it’s fed.

I was a 32F before kids. Breastfed DC1 for 2 years, currently 16 months into feeding DC2... still a 32F but my breasts are awful. Long and droopy. I don't think they go back. One of mine is also larger than the other. I will have a breast lift once I've weaned DC2

If you’re on Facebook, have you found the Can I breastfeed in it group? It’s the loveliest group and might give you some ideas or confidence about clothes.

I’m sure you’ve heard that breast changes are caused by pregnancy rather than feeding, may not help but plenty of women who FF from birth also find their boobs change loads.

Thanks @AnneLovesGilbert I'll check that group out. I didn't actually know that and thought it was mainly due to feeding. Thanks for filling me in!

I’ve been breast feeding for 6 years, only stopped in the last few days, and I have hated my boobs for ages Sad

They are still quite a small size, 36C ish, but they definitely aren’t as full and pert as they used to be. I hate my DH touching them because I feel like they just hang off me as opposed to being something sexual attached to me.

As the weeks/months pass after the cessation of breast feeding I will be intrigued to see if they change in any way....

Pre pregnancy I was a 32DD. Bfing I was a 32E. Now I've stopped they're around a 34D. In my experience, and what I've heard from friends etc, they usually shrink back to slightly smaller than before. They lose volume so they feel 'emptier' with most of the weight at the bottom.

Would be interested to hear if anyone has stayed the same size, but I'm not aware of any cases.

It sucks but it is what it is I guess 🤷‍♀️

I think it would help if I were in a secure relationship, but having left an abuser who hated my body, the idea of anyone seeing my boobs makes me shudder...

I started as a DD/E cup and ended up an H cup after breastfeeding for over a year! Partly down to breastfeeding and partly pregnancy weight that I hadn't lost. I'm now a D cup and can hand on heart say that my boobs look no worse than they did pre-babies. Sadly they never looked that great before but they weren't further ravaged thankfully Grin

They do improve over the years, op. Don't get too down. Stop feeding gradually, which you be doing at 20 months. I fed 3 babies, the longest period was until 21 months. I've had times when I have felt as you, but now I'm OK with my breasts, they have gained more tissue every year I think, since the initial post feeding deflation. My youngest weaned about 5.5 years ago and my boobs are still improving.

I was a 28ff when pregnant and for a while afterwards even though I was normal sized again (didnt breastfeed) ,am a size 6. I looked absolutely ridiculous, BUT by getting really good fitting bras, I personally dont find bravissimo good despite the MN love, I was instantly transformed. They appeared to shrink a lot. As they deflated I dod have yo go through a few bras but am now at a reasonable c cup. After two children and huge over inflation I have empty boobs the tops are hollow completely, bit choosing the right bra or bikini I makes a huge difference to the shape and look upu end up with. Even with off bras o never had thick straps yo look concerning under thinner strapped tops and dresses, I had very firm, verging on tight bands on the bras. The straps do very little in the scheme of things.
I think the more you look at your Boobs in the mirror, the more you get used to them and accept them. They ate part of upu and have done well for you and your family. You need to start to see them with different eyes.

Mine were wrecked by my first full term pregnancy. Was a D/DD beforehand - got measured a couple of weeks post partum and was a 32J 😫 you can imagine how ridiculous they looked. They were completely covered in stretch marks, the skin was so tight and sore they felt like they could pop - and when they finally went down a bit they were so crepey and ‘old lady’ like! I had 4 more pregnancies (2 Mc, 2 babies) over the next few years and they went up and then down and then up again...my youngest is now 2 and they’ve mostly settled back to normal. I never thought it would happen! But they look fine in clothes now, they’re much saggier than they used to be but I expect that’s down to age as well as pregnancy and breastfeeding (I bf all 3 of mine to around a year each). I don’t care about them, I don’t really think about them any more, they’re just part of my post-baby body. You’ll probably never look quite the same as you did pre baby, but that’s fine because you’ve had a baby so why would you expect to? I promise you no one else cares as much as you do - they’re probably so busy dealing with their own worries that they haven’t even noticed. And sooner or later they’ll either go back to semi normal, or they’ll just become your new normal. I wish I’d worried less about what I looked like as a relatively new mum, and just enjoyed my babies more.

Oh love Flowers I expect how you’re seeing your body is far more to do with that painful experience. Not minimising your feelings at all but it’s your heart that’s hurting as much as anything.

I'm now about a 30E. I was probably a 30C originally, but I still don't feel or look like I have big boobs.

I loved my pregnant/ feeding boobs. Totally self supporting. When I stopped pumping they didn't look so pretty though. At first thy looked like two empty crisp packets to be honest. Bloody depressing. I didn't think they'd improve but the have. More loose skin I'd say but not too bad now.
