Wedding anniversary....help please

Good morning,

Next week is my wedding anniversary quite a special one. I am currently shielding due to underlying health conditions so can't really go anywhere and can't have family or friends round so it will just be me and DH

I have ordered afternoon tea and a couple of bottles of champagne 🥴 but i really want to make it as special as possible because he's been my rock.

Can you please recommend or suggest things for me to do to make it a nice fun memorable day in the garden (hopefully if weather's kind)

Thank you

You can always order either a proper pressent for him, or smth sexy for the both of you? As an either smth you know he is into, or a smth for you to wear and him to peal off 😁

Oh somehow missed the 'in the garden bit'. So no peeling off in the garden.

😁tongues woumd wag.
If it has to be garden related, maybe some sun loungers? If he is into bbq-ing, maybe a set of tools for the bbq? I got a set of tongues, fork and a flippy thing once for hubs, he was really happy. He would bbq at least once a week if time/weather allowed.

You could order the something sexy for later or wake up booty call & really make a day of it 😊. Have a look at ann summers or //www.lovehoney.co.uk.

Get in some favourite food for a lovely evening meal. Maybe strawberries & cream to go with the afternoon tea? What do you both enjoy for breakfast? Croissants & coffee? Full english & a cup of tea?

I love waking up in fresh bedding. If that's a favourite in your house then change the bedding the night before.

I would love a nice relaxing day full of things we both enjoy.

Happy anniversary for next week 🥂

To take a previous poster further down the bbq theme, what about an online order from a really good butcher.

You know, organic, biodynamic or something.

And the really good red to go with it. Nb - you didn’t mention a budget.

A gift themed around the year? Like whatever the symbol is for that year.

Photos. I have been sorting ours during lockdown. Get wedding album out and maybe print a few from each year since. Nice to look back on and remember.

CoffeeBeansGalore, completly unrelated, I just put in my first order from lovehoney.co.uk. They seem to have great reviews, have you used them and were you satisfied? Sorry OP. Promise it's just this one question, I'm not allowed to create post on sex board yet.

JustC. Yes I have used them for several years. Happy with service. Once had a problem. I ordered a long chemise which arrived with a broken shoulder strap. I rang customer service, they couldn't apologise more, gave me an instant refund & a discount for my next order. Didn't have to return it. Have used since & no issues at all. Discrete packaging & reference on bank statement.

Happy Anniversary for next week!

Its mine the week after and also planning to use the garden, I thought about decorations for the garden a while ago and have bought bunting/fancy sparkly balloons/round pompoms to hang up
all in the same colours, have also got some sparkle candle numbers for the top of a small cake. Depending on the 'special anniversary' you could theme it around that. I ordered everything on line (some from overseas) some great party suppliers out there.

I always make a big effort with laying the table, best cutlery napkins etc, you can if you want some great plastic fancy ones as well, and if your having afternoon tea you can get quite good disposable tiered cake plates.

Flowers for the table, and if your out later on some tree lights hung around the garden or candles

Choose music that means something to you both and as well as having a few photos scattered around, I really dont care what anyone thinks about having them in the garden.

If your husband has a favourite food, maybe cook something like that for after/before tea

We were going away but not now, so I have planned a virtual art gallery and museum to watch where we would of been visiting for the morning as well. Do y?ou play games outdoors, how about an garden game as well

Its difficult to give suggestions for gifts as you dont give any indication of a budget, but I could go on and on!!

There's a company round here that hire hot tubs. They come and set them up in the garden. You could look into that?

Some of these ideas are fantastic thank you all.

@Martysmarvellousmeals also happy anniversary to you. Love some of these suggestions. I'm not really on a budget. We were due to be going to Paris but that's been cancelled and i have had a full refund so was going to use that money to spend.

I have set a playlist on alexa also chose some lovely pics to put out

Some musicians local to me are offering doorstep concerts. They need a bit of notice in case they need to learn a new song but it depends what you want. Have a look on any local Facebook groups to find one.

Solar fairy lights and lanterns, make bunting using printed off wedding photos, get a fire pit to sit round and some soft fluffy blankets for evening if it gets a bit chilly, Bluetooth speaker for soft romantic music but not too loud... think of the neighbours. Recreate your first dance at the wedding if you did one. Does your wedding dress still fit?

@StepAwayFromTheEcclesCake some beautiful ideas here thank you. I love the bunting idea. We have a fire pit so that will be ideal. I haven't tried my wedding dress on since the day we got married but it's covered in sand and red wine but i didn't want it washed as it's spayed with my late nans perfume.

My DH was extremely close to his grandparents who both sadly died before their 60's and I've managed to trace a family heirloom mistakenly sold to someone in our town. It has cost me a small fortune but i know how much it means to him, it was a big part of his childhood so i will be giving him that on our anniversary too

After your update, I'd probably stop there. You've done loads which is amazing. Chatting about your memories together will be lovely and you don't need to have a lot of 'stuff' to overwhelm the day. But that's just me.

@SecondStarFromTheRight you are probably right.
