For "blocking" next door's drive for 10 seconds?

Selling things on fb. Man comes to collect an item, so was at my door for nano-seconds. He parked at the end of my drive, with perhaps half his engine overlapping next door's drive, while he collected from my doorstep.

Next door arrived home and sat behind this car constantly sounding the horn, then the passenger got out and started swearing and shouting about not being able to use his drive and how we were breaking the law.

The entire street was vacant of cars, so they could have either parked elsewhere or turned around and entered the drive from the opposite direction. His drive was actually still accessible. Or waited.

Next door actually went back out again five minutes later, so parking on the road for those minutes wouldn't have hurt either.

Just feel there was no need for such a drama, and the shouting continued after the man had left too.

(Just to add, they block me IN on many, many occasions. When they are happy to park on the road.)

If the street was clear of cars then the person picking up the item could of parked anywhere instead of over anyone's drives.

I never said several minutes. It takes seconds to collect from a doorstep. The shouting continued after my visitor had left.

How would the neighbour know how long they were going to be parked there?

Possibly they were a bit OTT but the fault is with the person parking that way when you say the street was empty

The neighbour sounds like a pain in the arse and a hypocrite if he blocks you in regularly, but I can see how he was irritated at not being able to get into his drive. I had the same thing once, had been called away from work to collect DD from school after she had been sick and got home to find a bloody Yodel van delivering something to the neighbours across my drive, just what I didn't need when I had a vomity child in the car.

They were a bit ott but if there was plenty of parking on the road your collector should not have bloked their drive.

Alternatively you could ask was the person collecting from you BU to block your neighbour’s drive when the rest of the street was empty.

Yeah, it's annoying when your drive is blocked. Even more so if the street is empty.

And they're always 'just a few seconds'. Doesn't matter. They paid for a drive so they could use it when they wanted.

The drive was still accessible. They just had to go around. I can't influence such a visitor. He came to my door to collect, if I'd have sent him away to move his car it would have taken the same time.

I can understand why the neighbours were annoyed. Why should they have to drive up the road, turn and come back because some lazy arse has just abandoned a car across their access point to their property?

We have some of those neighbours.
We both have short, double wide drives, constantly block our second car in which you can't maneuvere off the drive because of how short it is.
Every time they have visitors, we're blocked in, when we complain always go on about all we have to do is ask them nicely and they'll move.
Never block their own bloody cars in though. They must have sent a memo out to all visitors that they have allocated parking on our drop curb.
The ONE time a delivery man (takeaway) was an inch past the fence onto their side they came running out the house effing and blinding and generally being an intimidating arse.
And then didn't even leave the house that day 🤷🏻‍♀️
Not a lot you can do except appreciate you aren't the dickhead in this scenario.

Your neighbour is a tosser with clearly no respect for others.
Even if he was pissed off, shouting and swearing will not resolve anything. Such a person might just as well shout ‘look at me, I’m a complete twat’
