To be worrying about this! Fingernail removal..

I had a toenail removed last year for a possible melanoma. It hurt a lot more than I thought it would. I was in so much pain. It’s looking like I may now need to have a fingernail removed for the same reason. I’m freaking out.
If you have had a fingernail removed how painful was it? :(
