My dp and I have been following the rules to the letter. His mother is now poorly with an inner ear infection and he needs to go and see to her as she is bedridden. The step kids have arrived this evening saying that they have been going in cars with friends to McDonald's (friends have been to blm protests) I am furious that they have done this and not thought of the wider implications. My dp can now not deal with his mother and my Dd who is 2 has asthma. Not overly concerned about that but we have been so careful. They are still in house atm. Don't want to drive a wedge but am seething

YANBU

You’re a step mum so be prepared to be slaughtered on here OP. Try not to take it personally.

Had the same with my step-son. I was meant to be shielding as was having chemo and radiotherapy. We explained to DH's ex etc to make her aware.

DSS turns up to stay the weekend and after a few hours announces that Mummy had to call an ambulance for her partner as he was struggling to breathe. No mention of it from her 🤦‍♀️ luckily it turned out he didn't have Covid but it would have been nice to know

It’s rubbish sometimes being a blended family
