Hi,
So when I do my hair and makeup in my bedroom mirror - I look great.

I go to my bathroom mirror - I look great.

drives to boyfriend's house

I go to his bedroom mirror (he has a large wardrope mirror) - I look hideous with dark under circles and dry hair and it looks like I have a tiny head.

I go to the bathroom mirror - I look even worse with a tiny squashed face.

I go back to my house and bathroom and bedroom mirrors and look great again.

I have no idea which mirror to trust. Has anyone else experienced this? I wonder which mirror image my boyfriend sees me as

Yes I experience this. I tend to use the mirror I look best in and not look in any others.

Mirrors are weird and lighting plays a massive part in how you look.
In a mirror my DH's face looks completely different and is bizarrely lop-sided.

  1. Some mirrors are slightly convex, some concave, some true. Convex will distort and make you look larger, concave make you look slimmer. Bathroom are usually convex.

  1. Lighting makes a massive difference. You want to look at soft diffuse light from above, in front. Most mirrors are in badly lit spots.

My friend used to have a skinny full length mirror, I swear this thing lost you half a stone Grin it was great when we went to hers before going out. You felt fab Smile
The mirrors in the toilets at work make me pale and gaunt, think that's the lighting though.

My mirrors make me look normal, but in reality I have a wonky face that only presents itself when someone takes a photo of me.
