Not one word of a fucking lie, I'm stood in my garden and I hear

"Daily Mail's just said Boris is going to give a £15 voucher for free school meal kids. I'm well happy, thats my Friday night drinks sorted"

Excuse my language, but I am fucking livid.

And you know for certain it wasn't a joke do you?
*If it even was said.

I don’t know how the vouchers work but surely they can’t be exchanged for alcohol?

I don't think they can be, it just flared my temper a little bit. Like, I don't really know why I can't pinpoint it

Is it so bad of they don't have to spend their last pennies on children's food and now have some left for leisure?
Or is state help only acceptable if theres literally not a pot to piss in?

Well, that's nothing. I was just standing in my garden and I heard people on furlough having an actual chat and laughing in the sunshine. Dreadful. (I was one of them.)

I wouldn't worry, OP - they clearly don't have DC on FSM otherwise they wouldn't have misunderstood the headline.

Yeah, awful. Because if you’re poor you aren’t allowed to drink alcohol or make jokes.

I caught my neighbours laughing last week, reported to the scroungers squad at the dwp. Dicusting.

I really don’t think it’s something to be so angry or upset about. Jokes are often used to be subversive. It doesn’t mean they aren’t actually looking after their children properly.

I don’t see it as any worse than the “hilarious” jokes about locking children in bedrooms and drinking gin you see from all the mummy bloggers

Jesus Christ, not everyone has the same sense of humour. Is this thread a bad joke?

Report

It states you can't buy tobacco and alcohol on them however they'll probably spend the vouchers on food and then the money they were going to spend on food use for alcohol instead of making sure their kids get the nutrition they need.
My parents ndn has spent hers on new clothes for her not the children. Which made me cross. I can assure you mine go on food for the dc and have been very useful however I feel there is a lot of room for misuse.
