I’ve been ‘meaning’ to leave for ages. It’s a part time job, I don’t need the money massively (it’s a few minimum wage hours, and I’m otherwise self-employed). DH is in a secure employed role.
Whereas other jobs I’ve usually come away with a few good pals, here I find them clique-y (could say slightly bitchy too) and have never really socialised with them. So not great in that sense.
However, I find the routine and the break from wfh beneficial – it offers a bit of balance and engagement outside the house. It also offers a bit of security, should freelance work dry up (I’m very fortunate that it hasn’t so far, but I’m aware it might be far more difficult to find another pt employed role with the current situation).
I know I’m lucky to have work at all, although this job has felt a bit negative at times (someone posted recently asking if your workmates are ‘your people’ and I had to say a definite no in this case). It seems like an opportune moment to move on, however I wonder if I’ll regret it when it’s too late and I’m going mad in the house. AIBU?
