To have given myself a fringe

It started just around fifteen minutes ago.
I was laying awake, too early to sleep, yet to late to be up at this hour - So, I did what anybody would do...
I listened to some fleetwood mac.
As I heard the beautiful voice of Stevie Nicks, I dreamt about my teenagehood for a moment, remembering how I always wanted such beautiful hair like hers - her fringe always seemed so effortless, yet I was never allowed to have it, kept from my cruel, cold hearted mother from ever expressing my inner-hippie.
So I did the unthinkable: I walked to the kitchen in a sleepy, bored daze, and grabbed a pair of scissors.
I angled the scissors, and with a quick snip, my hair was on the floor...
I looked.
In the mirror.
And oh, woe is me, words could not recreate the sound that came out of my mouth.
Thin, greasy strips of hair plastered to my forehead, about three inches above my eyebrows, reminiscent of Emma Watsons pixie cut.
I was frozen, scared, horrified at the monster looking back at me in the mirror.
What do I do?
Somebody tell me, alleviate my fears and let me know that it will be okay, in a few weeks the hair will grow and I really will have a perfect 70s shag fringe, better than Stevie Nicks and just what fifteen year old me always wanted.
Somebody, help!

I do massively wish I could tell you it will be fine in a few days but.... it would be a big lie. Have you considered getting a really huge hat?

(It will be okay in a few weeks though, just do notttttt try and fix it)

They're very uneven and slightly parted in the middle. Not sure if I could fix it If I tried!
A hat might work... Maybe a Stevie style hat

I sympathise. I did the same, age 14, like you, unable to sleep and thought it would be a great idea. I’d always wanted a flick, like Lady Di (this was in the 80’s), so started cutting across, and then round (to get the flick) and up towards the top of my head. The shortest piece was 1inch...
Headbands will be your friend for the next few months.

You could recreate the early 90s look with some hairspray and flick it back. Or get a handband - pull hair from face then push it forward creating a 'bump' with the hair at the front.

I did give myself the Mumsnet hair cut once, but I pulled the pony tail too far up my head then snipped. It honestly took 12 months to grow the short layers down.

Don't panic. I did this at the beginning of lockdown. My very kind DD even laughed when she saw it. I clipped it to one side until it grew a little and now it looks really good, I'm keeping it. Keep the faith!

I used to do hairdressing believe it or not, after my mullet.

Bring a bit more down, trim it (not as short) and make it a bit fuller maybe, Give it a wash tomorrow, and let it dry on its own.

If it looks shit, was it again and use a vent brush to ow dry it down.

After a few days you & your hair will get used to it.
I bet it doesnt look too bad.

Also Im sorry to.say, hairdressers are not open for the foreseeable.

A hairdresser could not fix it, if it's to short. The idea is to measure the length against the bridge of your nose otherwise it will bounce to short.
I had a horrendous fringe experience as a pre teen, I cut it really short it bounced so I decided to cut it all off scalped. Wtf it grew back eventually.
