Calling all Worthing ites

Hi all, sorry, I know I'm being unreasonable to ask but I did search for other threads first.....

We are moving to Worthing and wondered if those in the know can give us a heads up on which infant schools are supposed to be the best and which are the nice areas to live? We love Worthing and it's been a dream for a long time to move there, this will be a fresh start for us after the most awful year so far, so am trying to focus on the positive- our lovely DC so deserve something good and happy in their lives. Anyway, we would ideally like to be walking distance from the seafront, somewhere family friendly that is safe and desirable. We've been so many times but it's not the same as living there and I can't afford to balls this up for us all. So, if money was no object (I wish) which are the best locations/ areas / roads in Worthing? Any advice very very gratefully received! Thank you 😊

Hello I'm a fellow Worthingite!!! I'd say the nicest area from my point of view is the poets corner area and west Worthing is lovely. My daughter goes to St Mary's which is a lovely school from reception right though to junior.

How old are your children, any near the secondary school age?
Do you drive or will you need to be near public transport?
What sort of life style are you after?

We will be buying.
We have a good budget due to a devastating inheritance around 750k
We have really little children so only sorry in abouy primary
Drive and happy to drive anywhere
We would like a family friendly, liberal, bohemian vibe maybe not quite lentil weaving but you get my drift....!
Ideally we would like to walk to the beach and have a decent garden as we have dogs and a passion for growing stuff (with mixed success!!)

I wouldn’t say Worthing is bohemian or liberal but it is family friendly and a budget of £750k could buy you a lovely property.

Thank you! We've visited and seems liberal to me - loads of same sex couples, arty stuff going on etc. We've visited over the years for many years and found it inclusive and chilled place. But i suppose with Brighton down the road it has a lot of bohemian to live up to

Yes plenty of same sex couples and very inclusive. No one would bat an eye at a same sex family. Most of the area is Tory but that doesn’t mean everyone is still living in 1950,s Britain.

There is always loads going on in the summer. The Worthing lions carnival is great along with the funfair and parade. We even have our own Worthing eye now but it looks like they won’t be putting it up this year due to Covid.
