AIBU?

AIBU? Answering a question with a question

Ali2020 · 14/06/2020 09:31

My boyfriend answers any question i might ask him with a question. So for example -if I ask him if he’s eaten, he might reply ‘what do you think?’ I never get a straight answer out of him and it is making me exasperated.

I think he does it to wind me up, as I have asked him not to do this on a number of occasions.

AIBU to be annoyed by this?

Do the same in return. ‘Why do you think I’m asking?’

It's a piss take, so ask him why he's taking the piss out of you.

How long have you been together?

And arrogant. If you knew the answer, you wouldn't ask the question.

Absolutely!

Make yourself a little game out of it. See how many questions you can get up to. 😁

OP, I thought I recognised your username. Everything he says to you shows he that he doesn't respect you. Everything combined will be chipping away at your self esteem.

End it.

We’ve been together for six years so he knows exactly how to wind me up.

Why would you deliberately wind up someone you love?

It's an action that shows utter contempt for you!

I find people who like winding people up need to find people like themselves. I have wasted to much time with these sort of people who even if the drop one annoying piss take will look for another one. It’s just not my humour.

pink i was giving him the benefit of the doubt, in the sense he might not have been such a dick in their early days together, but, no, you're probably right .

It winds me up when I ask people ' how are you? ' and they say ' Yeah , you ? '
I want to know how they are , i know I'm alright! It also turns it back to me and I don't
Like talking about me much! It's a weird thing.
