The main characters in action films?.... As the film goes on they spend most of their time being chased from the bad guys who end up killing everyone in their path to get to them.

Surely the main character is better off just handing themselves in... it would save many innocent lives.

I always feel sorry for the other drivers/pedestrians who get caught up in car chases (E.g. Bond), and cops who are just going about their job then get shot whilst Tom Cruise runs away!

Lol OP. I got dragged along to see skyscraper starring Dwayne “the rock” Johnstone and felt like this. It was sooooo ridiculous I ended up laughing out loud and getting dirty looks from the fans who had turned up to watch. There’s a bit where he pulls off his false leg that is comedy gold but meant to be serious. I can’t recommend it enough if you want a laugh.

I spend too much time wondering how much trouble the main character would be in IRL. if you watch an old action film like Die Hard, I think surely he'd end up in jail for all the carnage left in his wake

Well I tell you what’s always troubled me - poor Makka Pakka, he’s so lonely! Just a stone as a friend. I mean, Upsy Daisy and Iggle Piggle are obviously Bestiea, always hangzing around together holding hands, and the Tombliboos have each other, and the Pontepines - well there’s 10 of them. (And the Wottingers, not that we ever see them). It’s just not fair is it.

Disclaimer - DD is 12 so it is entirely possible Makka Pakka has found his soulmate in more recent series, but I doubt it.

That film was just too unbelievable by the end! And hilarious. We only finished watching because couldn't believe how bad it was and wanted to have a laugh at the ending!

I hate the ones where the hero/heroine keep putting themselves in danger through sheer incompetence. Titanic was an example - the number of times Kate Winslet got off the ship only to get back on again was utterly ridiculous.

I watched an ancient cop programme today which was a prime example. Cop is convinced extremely dangerous baddy is hiding a gun in his house, goes in to search when baddy is out. Gets repeated warnings that baddy is on the way back and he MUST leave, he keeps saying yes but carries on searching. Baddy turns up, colleague manages to delay him by a miracle, tells cop to get the hell out. Cop carries on searching. Baddy's wife turns up, she's a good guy really, clocks that cop is still inside, delays husband some more, cop carries on searching. Wife comes in and hides cop, while she distracts baddy, cop still searching. Wife texts cop to say coast is clear, cop finally gets the message and gets ready to leave, but spots possible hiding place down a drain and stops to unscrew the top. Surprise, surprise, baddy suddenly looming over him with a gun to his head.

By the end of all that I felt stressed out, not by the danger but because of the cop's utter incompetence.

Those films where people battle against all odds to survive some kind of apocalypse - I always think what is the bloody point? You are going to be wrecked and traumatised and living in a shitty world where you have to live underground or all alone or never making a noise, my gosh just let the aliens eat you already your quality of life after this is gonna suck
