AIBU?

Lack of manners

Does this bother anyone else?

For context, a friend asks me to help her with her work, no please or anything like that. I make a suggestion so she can move on with the question, but she ignores it saying that she has already tried that even though I can't see where she's done the said working. She asks for a further suggestion.

I think it's cfery to ask for something, turn your nose up at an offer and demand something else. Maybe I'm just being sensitive.... but for some reason, I just feel annoyed.

Goodness I would feel annoyed too. This person is rude, lacking in manners and utterly graceless. I would find that really striking in a new person and would find it hard to form an actual ‘friendship’ with someone like that. I suppose its a question of whether she is like that with everyone (then you can make a judgement on how much you want to be in her orbit) or is she just like it with you (in which case drop her like a hot potato). Manners cost literally nothing and mean so much.

Thanks CoraPirbright. I think I need to be more assertive with her really. She's pleasant and kind most of the time and good company, but it's when she asks me for favours, which is usually done by text and I just despair at the lack of manners.
