So I moved into a new area / new town just before lockdown. I don't know anyone. DS did go to school for a bit, but not long enough to make any real friends, or meet up with anyone outside school. DD has come to live with me as her school is closed til September, and she'll be starting a new place here in Sept. I don't know what to do. DS has stuff to do from school, but being Year 7, and a young Year 7, he needs me to sit with him. I try and leave him to do things but he always comes and asks me. We've done some maths, and a bit of French but not much else. I don't have time - I'm working from home. Work is busy on and off, but I have to be 'available' and 'switched on' from 9-5. I'm just soooooooooooooooooooooo bored and fed up. I didn't mind so much when we were in lockdown, but now I know people are meeting up etc, but I've nobody to meet, and tbh the kids are driving me nuts. they don't know any friends here either, and are either on screens or arguing, or winding up the dog. I doubt there will be any football camps or such like during the summer where they could meet people? Another 3 months of this is going to be hell. I'm dreading it. Dreading even more that I might have to start going into work, at least it would get me out of the house I guess. Sorry just needed to have a moan. Anyone any ideas how I can get to know some people in this weird half-lockdown.

I’m with you on this one op. I live in a small village and know a few people not enough to go round and see them and call them friends. It’s very lonely. Can’t even go see family. :(

Is there a local scout group doing stuff online? That might be helpful for your son - I hope that a good scout leader would do what they can to get him welcomed into the group.

I’m with relatives now but so worried about when we go back into the office as I’ll be in the same position. I was slowly using meet up to make a few friends but have ASD. I’ll be alone.
