Twin pram advice!

Hi, I will be a first time mum to twins (due sept) and I am trying to sort out a pram/travel system! I fell in love with buggaboo donkey twin but can’t justify spending £2k! Anybody got any recommendations for pram, including carry cot and car seats for twins that won’t break the bank?

Hi, my dts are 10 now so it's all a bit of a distant memory and most of the prams/ pushchairs I used won't be available anymore.
How big is your doorway?
I got a tandem pushchair for the first year because I really didn't want them to get them out and wake up when I got home from shopping or being out.
I waited until they were older to get the city jogger, which was brilliant at the time.
Most of the people I know with twins had a couple of pushchairs or prams, they just changed them to suit their needs.
I bought my first one brand new and sold it to put it towards a second hand one.
Sorry, I can't remember what the first one was.

Out n About Nipper. Absolutely AMAZING!

Don't have twins but do have a 18 month old and a 3 week old I fell in love the bugaboo donkey aswell. But with my first I got the mother journey with car seat etc included and was only £300 so spending the price on the second pram at over a thousand my Oh wasn't sure. But I did sell it good that it goes into a single so it will be used for a while and also if we decide to have a 3rd it will also be used again. Also we didn't have much big stuff to buy this time. So anytime someone asked what we needed/wanted we just said money and we put it towards the pram so we didn't actually put that much towards it as we first thought we would have to pay. Is that a option for you? Also shop around different websites and see if anywhere has a deal we got ours off simply baby and they had 10% off when we ordered! X

I had an out n about nipper. So light and easy to steer. I had newborn in that using head hugger and lying flat.

Mountain buggy duet... that and the nipper were the top picka at our twins group. You can use it from birth to lie them flat but we used cocoons for the first three months so they could face us

Mountain buggies are amazing - I had an ancient model and it was fab. I would say buggies do come up second hand and honestly you don’t need a new one.

Out and about nipper hands down. I got another more expensive one and it was shit in comparison. Wish I'd saved the money and just got the nipper first. Still excellent for much older toddlers when out on walks and one gets tired. Can use the seat to shove my bag on days out etc.

Amazing on tarmac, the air tyres make it so easy to push two heavy toddlers vs my other buggy that actually hurts my wrists to push. Also fantastic off roading through rough terrain.

Some people have had issues with punctures but you can purchase extra tough inner tubes on their website for about £30 to avoid this happening.

I agree with previous poster about the out n about nipper twin great value and a great buggy.

My friend has this exact one it's much better than the thing we had when our DD was little

If you are prepared to buy secondhand then you can get your first choice Priam for under £700. I've been given a pram that is worth about £900 new and around £250 second hand (pram S do not hold value well) it's been through two children from birth to toddler and is 6 years old. I've just washed all the fabric and it's immaculate. Frame has a few scratches but not noticeable. As much as a new pram would be lovely I can bring myself to spend that money when I have one for free and I feel like I might be less self conscious going out with it in the early days if it's not a shiny 'FTM' beacon!

I wanted the bugaboo donkey for my twins but it wouldn’t fit through my front door. We have the Mountain Buggy Duet and it is fine.

I'm going to go against the grain and say not the out n about nipper for newborn twins unless you don't drive? You can't attach car seats to it and that would have been a massive pain for me when they were tiny!
I did buy one when my twins were around 15 months though and agree it is the best pushchair for ease of pushing etc!

I had an uppa baby vista which I loved, they're pretty pricey new but I got it second hand for £500 including 2 carry cots and 2 seats and all the adapters and rain covers.

I've been through a range from a style like the bugaboo(a cheaper version not as nice), to the umbrella folding ones but the best has been the out and about nipper. Its so light and is the only one I've been able to push one handed. We live by the coast and love the countryside and so far its handled som impressive terrain. I also used to be able to site my oldest child on the front wheel and push her too. Up until she was almost 6 (although she's quite petite). With the bugaboo and out and about nippers you can get hold of some in excellent condition second hand so might be worth looking.

Could you not look for a secondhand one? If not we have the oyster max and that is lovely to push and my friend has an icandy which is practically the same x
