Why are BBC correspondents spending so much time analysing snitchy emails from Covid-19 Contact Tracers complaining they have nothing to do. Surely it can only be a good thing if it's because (as stated by the Gvt's advisers in their press conference):
- The numbers of new infections are much lower than was forecast and ...
- many people are self-reporting their contacts online.
- people becoming symptomatic now have been locked down, so only have a very small number of contacts.
As the lockdown eases further, the number of contacts per person will obviously increase, and maybe they'll be busier.
In the meantime, if they don't want the job, then I'm sure someone else will gladly take it, or perhaps the Gvt can save money by reducing the numbers of Tracers.
