AIBU?

To be absolutely fucking livid

I'm just feeling so pissed off with the British public right now. Seeing the news stories of people crammed onto beaches, stuck in traffic jams, stupid bloody tombstoners, people queuing for 3 hours plus to get into Ikea, nobody wearing masks, tourists crapping in hedges and leaving all their rubbish behind in my beautiful village - what is wrong with people?!

I realise that Coronavirus may not be as dangerous as it first appeared but it is still here, it's still killing 100's of people a day, it's still bad news for anyone overwight, over 50 or with underlying health conditions.

All these people behaving as if it's "gone away". It hasn't!

I'm livid that the government acted too little too late. We didn't close our borders, we haven't got a proper track and trace in place. We look like idiots. Now they are saying oh it's fine to have BBQ's but bring your own ketchup - for goodness sake!

I do think lockdown should be tentatively eased - as a self employed person I've been happy to start to go back to work but I'm being so so careful with hygiene and social distancing. Baby steps. I also do think people should be able to go out for a walk or see relatives so long as social distancing. But there seems to be a general mood of oh it's fine we can all just go back to normal - in fact worse than normal, let's all crowd together and have a big old party!

I'm afraid there will be a second wave due to all this irresponsible behaviour and that we will need to go back to full lockdown, putting businesses and people's health in jeopardy. I'm worried that my daughter won't be able to start uni in September. I'm worried that my neices who are doctors will have to deal with the fall out from all this. I'm worried my husband will be unable to get another job. I'm scared and depressed.

And all these fuckers ignoring social distancing are just taking risks with their own lives and everybody elses - when they visit a beach resort or other tourist place they use the toilets, use the cashpoints, visit the supermarkets or corner shop - all prime places to spread the virus far and wide.

I just don't think the message to be careful has been hammered home hard enough.

I understand your point, unfortunately the governments actions and mixed messages have made people come to the conclusion that normal life is to resume.

It's unbelievable, isn't it? As though they and their families are invincible. It'll be interesting to know whether they also believe the kids shouldn't go back to school and that furlough should continue.

The scientific advisors have said it's too early to ease lockdown. Boris is prioritising the money now and all the sheep are following suit.

It is scary op and a worrying time for everyone. You cant control what others do though and there may well be a second wave anyway. I hope your dh can get another job and try not to worry.

Ugh I have just been to a pregnancy scan and I was the only pregnant woman there with a mask on. My face was sweating and it was harder to breathe but I am immuno suppressed and have health issues so had to keep it on. I kept thinking that if these other women in the waiting room had their masks on like they should then I could have safely removed it for a minute for a bit of relief. So annoying. No one seems to care, everyone seems to think it's over and nevermind who they could be harming.

It's as though over night a switch has been flicked and people think it's gone away.

Honestly it's like back to normal around here.

It's honestly like nothing ever happened where I am, just back to normal completely it's a bit surreal

There comes a point when Boris has to prioritise the money though. The government can't pay all our salaries for ever. Nor benefits to everyone who might be made redundant if businesses don't open soon. And for businesses to resume, kids have to go back to school.

I went to the beach at the weekend, didn't break any rules. Tbh everuthing was open people were getting ice creams, chips, big groups of people gathering no one batted an eyelid. Same with my local town no one cares anymore.
I can't control others action. I can only make decisions for myself and it's the last summer until I give birth, we're allowed out so that's what I'm doing

The thing is dirty scrubbers have always been dirty scrubbers.
Those who litter have always done it.
If you see someone littering you need to challenge them.
If you see someone haughty street as a toilet , the same.
I'm so glad my employer are not letting people into my place of work yet, and when they do it will be under very strict conditions.

Yet millions have died around the world. Where on earth did you get that nugget of information? Also britain was a joke already due to brexit - this lack of leadership just confirms what we already knew.

That aside it really is shocking to see so many out and about as if nothing has happened and makes me want to stay home all the more because of it. People are idiots.

I suggest you calm down, do what you think is right for you and let other people do what they think it is right for them.
People can do their own risk assessment.
Being angry is bad for your health.
There is not evidence for a second wave.
Most people spent weeks at home. They are not infected.

Wonder how many of these people refuse to go back to work or send their kids to school. Maybe some people feel it must be much better fun sity6ing on the beach being paid to do nothing.

"Hell is other people" (Sartre)

We're not going out much even now, because I can imagine how others are going to act and I don't want to be part of it. Even so I've had it with them.

Funnily enough, the last straw wasn't Covid related, it was this www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-52874321. Moorland fires started by a discarded disposable barbeque.

I think I need to stop reading, hearing or watching the news. My blood pressure rises every day.

Don't go to the beach then, don't travel and you won't get into jams, don't tombstone or go to Ikea. As for in "my" village, it's not yours, you live there and apart from your property to own no more of it than I do.

People are not idiots. Do you think you know best?

If you want to stay at home that's fine. Not everyone is like you.

No you have it all wrong.

Don't you remember that fat blonde haired turd standing there telling us all that the reason we were not closing borders / schools etc was that it was 'important to take these measures at the right time' and that we were 'following the science'.

Well we should all have known that Johnson is a fucking idiot - just a shame the SAGE group Government Paid Lackeys were and continue to be fucking useless as well.

Don't come by mine. Your head will explode! Neighbours having bbq kids bday party with blow up bouncy castle which was delivered and blown up last night. Approx 7 people, excluding family, in garden right now!

It doesn't matter if people spent weeks at home though, does it? They’re going out now and risking infection not just from other people but from surfaces, the environment etc and for what? The beach? A drink at the pub. Then what? These people go home, interact with others and spread the damn thing even more.

It's been 3 months, not 3 years ffs. People are morons. Those who intentionally risk their health (and other's) for a frolic at the beach don't bloody deserve treatment. But...I'm biased, I’ve had two family members die from it and I have no immune system. So enjoy your drinks and beach time. Selfish pricks. 🤦🏼‍♀️😪

I wonder what the socioeconomic breakdown of offenders would look like? Would be interesting to see what groups are behaving like this and why.

The government haven’t been as clear as they need to be with the rules, but the problem is a lot of people in the UK lack critical thinking. They find loopholes to fit their own needs, and then you are left with others that have set their own, stricter guidelines and then get frustrated when people don’t follow these.

Masks, for example, are advised but not mandatory. Personally I am keeping to social distancing & hygiene rather than masks. Sorry @ChoosingHim but unless you are in a country where wearing masks is mandatory, then that’s a bit unreasonable to blame others for not making the same choices you have made.

Lunar yes people ARE idiots.

Sorry I meant millions got the virus but just under 400 thousand are dead worldwide. I would class that as pretty serious.
