I watched an interview this morning with Dr Shona. (The lawyer) Her point was very well presented.

However the way she spoke was like a rallying speech. It was delivered using very complex language that I worry will go over many people heads. I struggled to follow some of it.

We need to find a way to get the message across and reach ALL groups and all literacy and educational abilities . Especially our younger generation who will then be able to forge change as they become the adults of tomorrow.

I come from the all lives matter brigade a few years back. I now fully understand (I like the explanation about the house on fire) I will explain and point out the difference to anyone who asks or brings it up. Surely it's the job of white people to try and educate themselves and try and understand where the anger and exasperation comes from, not the job of black people to have to yet again explain everything to us.

If all lives really mattered, they would be protesting with BLM, not trying to take away from it. They would be protesting against police brutality, not making excuses for it. You would expect and want better behaviour by the people who CHOSE and SWORE to uphold the laws and are supposed to be trained to know how to handle these situations not civilians who may or not be guilty of a crime which is for a jury to decide.

Also, where are these people when it is someone that looks like them being hurt by police? Why are they more upset by others speaking up for their own communities about police brutality?
