Lots of newspapers/online articles announcing this today.
Being in a private place with partner and having sex can lead to a £100 fine if i've read correctly.

The world is going cuckoo.
But who cares about seeing my boyfriend, at least I can go shopping in Primark and go sit on a packed train (sarcasm)

Hasn’t that always been the case though? It breaches the social distance rule.

How will anyone know if you're shagging your partner? Seriously?

Sueannnnna Mon 01-Jun-20 11:48:03

Just google it and go on news, you'll seen loads of articles

No.

You’re specifically saying it’s illegal to have sex with a partner you don’t live with.

I think that merits a source.

Sueannnnna Mon 01-Jun-20 11:50:45

@PaddyF0dder i don't think it's hard for you to find it on google.

And how the hell are they going to police this? 😂

That's the rules.

It doesn't specifically say 'sex' - but that's one of the consequences of the rules.

TerrapinStation Mon 01-Jun-20 11:52:31

It's widely reported that it is illegal to go into other people's houses, presumably this is a very specific example of what you can't do, just as you can't have a cup of tea or watch TV together.

Maybe all the papers have got it wrong but I've seen it many times this morning.

borntohula Mon 01-Jun-20 11:52:43

The government literally wants to dictate people's sex lives. What a world.

Sueannnnna Mon 01-Jun-20 11:53:06

@borntohula i love how they say 'private places' Does this mean we'll be finding lots of people behind trees grin

The proposed change makes it illegal to spend time inside a house that is not part of your household apart from visiting the toilet or carrying out work (e.g. plumbers).

Yes that ultimately means you can't have sex with someone outside your household but that isn't the aim of the law, that is the sensationalism of the press you are reading.

Tbf though I haven't seen a decent source reporting this actually happening yet, just lots of hype and drama from the usuals.

SoupDragon Mon 01-Jun-20 11:53:36

Surely it is impossible to have sex with a partner you don't live with and maintain social distancing anyway.

Sueannnnna Mon 01-Jun-20 11:54:12

Waiting for the 'I live with my partner but non-cohabitating partners are murderous for meeting up' brigade to come along

Monkeynuts18 Mon 01-Jun-20 11:55:32

That’s been the case from the very beginning. Before it was unlawful to leave your home without reasonable excuse, and having sex did not count as a reasonable excuse.

Get your news from a less sensationalist source, I think.

Choice4567 Mon 01-Jun-20 11:55:57

But as lots of Posters have pointed out, it always broke Social distancing rules, so has been ‘illegal’ Since March. Why are you suddenly wound up about it now?

gamerchick Mon 01-Jun-20 11:55:59

Gotta love the press.

TulipsTwoLips Mon 01-Jun-20 11:56:40

Unless you are an MP with a married lover. That seems to be very trendy these days.

rubydoobydoo Mon 01-Jun-20 11:56:42

You can technically be fined for going within two metres of anyone you don't live with - so unless you're into that weird tantric stuff it's a bit difficult to have sex without breaking the rules!

borntohula Mon 01-Jun-20 11:57:25

OP, I'd pay the £100 over having sex behind a tree! I just hope the police wait until I'm finished before they fine me.

Sueannnnna Mon 01-Jun-20 11:57:27

Yeah I might just get a job in parliament, they seem to do what they want

I just find it crazy that we've entered a world were people are accepting this!
