Mumsnet winners

Many mumsnetters take part in sponsored threads where it is relevant to us, and take the time and effort to post our tips, ideas, children's work etc, where there is a chance of winning a voucher to spend, and with the current very difficult times would be most welcome. I know it's not the most important issue facing us - nor it is everyones priority, but I feel that would make a difference.

I have been chasing several threads including one from March (I am not a poster) - e'g 24th March @JustineBMumsnet posted Hi all, we're going to close this discussion for now as the relevance has changed following recent news. We'll be starting a new discussion in partnership with IKEA soon. Anyone who has posted here already will still be entered into the prize draw, and we'll get back to you about when that will be

I have reminded 3 times on this tread

Whatever your tips for dealing with chickenpox, share with PoxClin Cool Mousse below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list). - From April

The Banjo Robinson test thread has been closed down - no winner from the testers who have taken the time to test with their children.

these are only 3

Am I being unreasonable in wanting the lovely Mumsnet staff to go through these threads and announce winners, where the receipt of much needed vouchers to spend during lockdown would be a great pick me up to mumsnetters who are struggling financially.

We all take the time and effort in reading and adding to sponsored threads.

Thanks in advance.

Good point - has the children draw favourite holiday been pulled out the bag yet? DD drew one ages ago and I still haven't uploaded.

Do you have questions about taking care of children’s skin? Ask La Roche-Posay expert Dr Catherine - 3 x £100 vouchers to be won - questions have been answered

Have you checked the actual winners thread? Mumsnet don't normally post winners on the individual threads, they announce on the central one.

@QuoteRobuxBriberyIsMyLifeNow - no that one is still open - good luck and thanks for your thoughtfulness

@roff yes I have - there is a 2019 thread where another Mumnetter had the same issue, @cannotmakemymindup. there is not a 2020 thread - I've checked - winners are usually tagged at the end of each thread with the exception of the survey monkey ones we fill in (there have been a lot on our thoughts on Corona and home schooling)

Oh that is weird. @mnhq what's going on?

Report
pastabest · 01/06/2020 07:55

I've 'won' a couple of things over the years and never seen it announced anywhere or been tagged. I've just had separate emails advising how to receive the voucher/item.

I think whatever is going on there needs to be a bit of slack at the moment, MN staff like lots of people are probably working from home/furloughed etc.

GrimmsFairytales · 01/06/2020 08:00

Very weird. Even more so because they're still starting new sponsored threads, but not announcing winners from past threads.

For example this one was only started a few days ago.

Share your experience of using screens during lockdown with Optrex - £100 voucher to be won - 26th May

I am taking into account the WFH issues, I am getting regular emails to fill in surveys, and seen new threads being started by MN, so there is work being continued, I have bumped a couple of threads - it does not take a long time to respond to a message.

Same as @pastabest, have won a few vouchers throughout the years and never had an announcement

I am on a couple of the threads you mention and was hoping to be a winner, I am new to mumsnet and I can tell you a shopping voucher would make a huge difference to me - having 3 children at home and being on furlough - stressfull is not an understatement - hope you get the results you are wanting OP

Whilst I agree everything is up in the air somewhat with normal working schedules etc,. So some slack is required.

However I agree about announcing winners overall. For instance on the Tonic thread the answers and rating score has obviously been shared with the sponsoring company as a new advert is up saying 'Mumsnet rated'. If they surely have time to pass on those details then surely enough time to state on a thread, like they used to 'and the winner(s) are/is'. I have emailed awhile ago requesting if anybody got picked as a winner(s) however I have not had a response unfortunately. So I'm not sure if that particular staff member is not with Mumsnet anymore?

Makes me not want to bother posting my comments in the hope of winning a voucher to use on my family :(

I won around 2 years ago - and was tagged in the post - and was over the moon to spend £300 at Argos, I contribute to sponsored discussions when I can and offer advice (the chicken pox one) I do try to keep tabs on the ones I have commented on and do hope that a winner is picked - or what's the point - good point about the Tonic thread - I tested that product and left my feedback but did not know a winner had not been chosen - how odd - @MNHQ. - good to have a update

Keeping your family’s skin healthy can be difficult, particularly once the winter chill sets in. With that in mind, La Roche-Posay would like to hear about the skincare tips you have.

Here’s what La Roche-Posay has to say: “Extreme temperatures, a lack of humidity in the air and even strong wind can weaken the protective layer of the skin, causing it to lose natural moisture. This is why you tend to notice even more dry or sensitive skin in winter. It is key to pay attention to these signs and take extra care of your family’s skin during this time of the year. We would love to understand what winter skin concerns you and your family have, and how you are dealing with them”

Do you have a skincare routine that works for the whole family? Maybe you have ‘hero’ products that seem to do everything for everyone? Does La Roche-Posay feature on your family’s skincare routine? Perhaps you have tips on things to avoid to keep your skin healthy?

Whatever your family skincare tips, share them below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

FROM FEBRUARY
Despite their size, children manage to take up more space in a home than many parents ever bargain for, making ample storage space an even more precious commodity than it was before children for many parents. With this in mind, IKEA would like to hear about the ways you make the most out of your storage spaces and how it’s made your life easier.

Here’s what IKEA has to say: “The house can often feel crowded after the festive period but a few small changes can make a big difference. Adding hooks and storage solutions at a lower height gives children the freedom to tidy things up by themselves. Remember children love spending time where you are so a small kitchen trolley can make a perfect mobile Art & Craft or play station that can be moved tidied away quickly.”

Maybe you have a creative way for storing lunchboxes or tips for fitting more into cupboards without them overflowing? Perhaps you swear by hangers on doors, boxes inside drawers or folding your clothes in a specific way? How have you used IKEA furniture or accessories to make the most of your space?

Whatever your home storage hacks, share them on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 IKEA voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

Getting on the property ladder can be an uphill battle for first-time buyers - from the financial challenges to the legal paperwork it throws at home seekers, many rely on help from parents to make it happen. That’s why we want to find out if you’re considering or currently purchasing or have already purchased your first home and how you went about it.

So we are asking you what help you received or are receiving from your parents, if at all, and roughly, when this was? Who started the conversation, you or your parents? Did you tap into the Bank of Mum and Dad and how did you do that - through their savings, using their existing assets or property, them getting a loan, accessing their pensions or another way? Was it in the form of gift, loan or early inheritance? Did you seek legal advice and formalise the process with your parents? If so, how easy was it to sort out the legal side?

If you could, how would you change the process of receiving your parents’ financial support when buying your first home? If you’re considering saving for your own children’s futures - perhaps so they can buy a home - what’s important to you?

Whether you have considered, currently getting on the property ladder or already have your first dream home, post your thoughts on the topic on the thread below. All MN users who leave their opinion will be entered into a prize draw where 1 lucky winner will get a £150 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

@AbbiCMumsnet can you help with this thread ?

Report
lovemyflipflops · 01/06/2020 13:17

This sponsored discussion is now closed. Thank you to everyone who posted on this thread.

Often when we have children, it feels impossible to find the time to do anything that isn’t absolutely crucial…and before you know it, there are things on your to-do-list which have been on there for well over a year or decade. Those little jobs around the house, buying a gift for your OH, clearing out the wardrobe or – one you might not have thought of – sorting out your Will. With this in mind, Cancer Research UK would like to hear about the things you struggle to get around to doing.

Here’s what Cancer Research UK has to say: “We know that updating your Will or writing one from scratch can be a daunting prospect, and one of those things that you might feel just isn’t a priority right now. However, we think writing a Will is far too important to ignore; if you don’t, not only could you leave your loved ones with distressing admin, but it also means the law would decide how your estate is distributed – and this might not be in line with your wishes. Cancer Research UK offer a Free Will Service open to anyone over the age of 18 which guides you through the process step by step, and you can have your Will written within 30 minutes, and tick that job off your list.”
What are the odd-ends you never seem to get around to doing? What are the things that stand in the way of you sorting these out? Where does writing or updating your Will feature on your to-do list (if at all!)? Do you think Cancer Research UK’s Free Will Service would help you?

All who share their thoughts and feelings on the thread below will be entered into a prize draw where 3 lucky MNers will each win a £100 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

Sorry for the delay on some insight prize draws - we've furloughed a few people and we're working with a skeleton team as a result. This was coincidentally on our to-do list for today, so please bear with. We'll be notifying winners from anything that has closed over the last couple of months this week and posting on the respective threads to announce

How would you talk to your daughter about her period? Or educate your son on what happens to women during menstruation? Are continence or ‘leak’ issues something you feel like you can’t mention, or are there topics that you’d be too embarrassed to speak about outside of a doctors office? Do you find it difficult to talk about money with others, out of fear they’ll feel judged, or that they’ll judge you? Perhaps there’s some people in your life you’d talk about anything with, regardless of how taboo the topic?

However you discuss topics that are traditionally taboo, share a comment below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list) and one MNer will win a £100 Modibodi voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

Also still waiting for a winner to be announced for testing the Deliveroo service back in December (2019).
