AIBU?

To ask my neighbours to keep it down?

It's roasting in our house and I'd like to open the windows so DS doesn't overheat so much.

Next door neighbours in a terraced house currently have visitors listening to music loudly in the garden. They have kids on a trampoline and a roaring fire going so no sign of ending soon.

If this is still going on in an hour WIBU to go round and ask them to keep it down? Or do they have a right and I should keep my window closed?

Loud parties are a semi-regular occurrence but it's more muffled through the walls so I don't say anything then.

My neighbours do this a lot. I keep the window shut!

I know you're right. It's just like a furnace up there.

I think I would politely ask if they could quieten down a little bit, then hope that they would decide to fully call it a night but I think it would depend on how scary I thought those neighbours were.

They're not the nicest, he came round a few months ago in a rage because I'd hit his car. I hadn't.

Mines are still out. Music playing, fire going. they are fine just talking and not being too loud, then theres always that one that has the annoying loud high pitched laugh....

It's absolutely shit having to put up with that but please don't take the risk if they're prone to aggression. The repercussions might be worse. I'm usually a "stand up for yourself" kind of person but the way people are now when challenged is scary. There's no proper system in place to counteract the blind arrogance and entitlement.

DS isn't really upset at the noise more that he thinks there's something going on that sounds interesting but he is not in any way asleep and that's with the window shut. I'm just going to hope they piss off soon. They kind of quieten down for a bit and then the kids get back on the trampoline and start screeching.

Are they singing ridiculously loudly with no consideration?

We might be neighbours!

I only moved in a few months ago and not a peep, these last 2 weeks, Jesus Christ, power tools and DIY after midnight!

Close the window. Get a fan.

@mylittlesandwich I think we should just let our children out extra early into the gardens tomorrow morning, breakfast in the garden with the radio on loud, and maybe a game of football with the fence as a goalposts Wink

I agree with the last post @abcdef1993 that's exactly what I'd do, and if they dared complain I'd remind them of the noise they made the night before and remind them I never complained to you. X

I have a fan and the window closed but I can still hear every single word.

Sadly DS is only 6 months old so can't play much football. I wish he could.
