Yanbu rant away. I'd join you only I don't know where to start with a rant. I feel like the DC with my finger in the dam I'm watching the slow cracks knowing the water will drown me if I let go. Desperately trying to keep it together. Sad

Every time I see a fucking rainbow in a window I get the covid rage now.

Oh yes I'm so fucking happy working 40hours a week's as a single mum, trying to balance childcare, homeschooling, food shopping and all the other fucking shit that goes with this pandemic.

I'm fucking done with it, I've literally tapped out of this shit show.

Exactly. My eldest child is a prick. I don't even like the look of them. If I look at them it's just looks of disgust. They've always been a handful, but this lockdown has just proven what a jerk they actually are. I don't even want to hug them because they just cause me misery with constant defiance and lack of empathy.
I try to be kind and understanding but they're just a selfish human being sent to ruin me.
I don't like them!!!
I like my other kind considerate child. I wish I could put one back and keep the nice one.

Gosh, you’re going through it, aren’t you?
How old is your eldest child? You are expressing really quite rejecting thoughts about them which I think you might need some professional help with.

I do think lockdown amplifies everyone’s emotions. Might your eldest be struggling emotionally with the situation as much as you are? Do you think that perhaps they’ve picked up on your thoughts about them and that’s contributing to their behaviour?

No real advice beyond speaking to someone about your feelings towards your eldest and taking a deep breath and remembering this will be over and life will gradually return to normal.

@Blahblahidontcare

How old is your oldest? I felt like that about my 11 dd a couple of weeks ago. Then the hormones dropped back down and I like her again now. We’ll be back to it again in 2 weeks. Hmm
Try and find something to do together. I find a nice long walk, preferably by the river followed by a film helps. Even arts makes me hate her as she just whines that it’s not perfect. God I hate it when she does that.

Hi there, I feel your rage. I'm trying to keep a lid on my rage as well by putting a good face on it but no one else in the house is bothering too much. I keep just praying that this is lockdown syndrome or something - there has to be a term for it, this amplification of emotions and the feeling of it never ending, trapped forever in the house and in the situation we are sick of. The political situation has just made it so much worse as I now feel we aren't in it together, everyone is pulling in different directions and we are all going to suffer in the long run. Aaaaaaaaaagggghhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

Hi op, I hear you. Ignore the sanctimonious 'you sound very rejecting....need counselling' bullshit that someone has already felt the need to post.
My eldest is also a twat of epic proportions. I've always known really, but lockdown has really put the tin fucking hat on it.
Solidarity 💪🍷

I'm with you, OP.
Yesterday, I was sitting reading the newspaper, and thought about how I would never have believed a couple of months ago that I would be reading it and wondering whether there would be anything in it about when I could see my mum.

Lockdown brings out the best and worst in people, children, parents and people alike.

Sorry to hear your kids an arsehole OP.
I think we all have our moments, some more than others.

How old are they?

I hear ya, OP. Mine's a little shit much of the time; doesn't matter about the 75% of times he's "good" (it's all relative!) because in the other 25% he's violent and aggressive towards me, and it wipes out all the good. I thought we had got past this period but it's starting to ramp up again. Absolutely running on empty at the moment. Can't even fake it anymore.
