Feel this is a stupid think to call in with but I can hardly walk.
I have a huge boil on my lady bits and it’s killing me just to walk. It burst yesterday with loss of pus and blood but now it has just filled up again. I managed work last nights but I am just in agony every time I move so it rubs

YANBU to call in with that. Just tell them you are having gynaecological issue and then go and have a bath and hot flannel.

I sent a woman home with this a few months back, Poor thing she was going faint from the pain and looked awful. After it burst she felt OK for a while then it started to refill. Bloody awful, she ended up getting it removed in hospital a week later.

Goodness you can’t go to work like that. Hope you feel better soon Flowers

You can't work like that! You can barely walk. I've never known a night shift that isn'y physical work.
Stay at home with a hot flannel and try to get some magnesium paste if you can to draw it out.

Definitely stay home, OP. Friction from clothing will rub when you walk and make it worse, so get your drawers off and give your foof an airing!

Hot compresses, eg a flannel wrung out in hot water, will help. Also aspirin or paracetamol for the pain.

If you've had it more than a few days, or if you start to feel generally unwell, or you start to run a temperature (especially if you get a temp), try and get a telephone appointment with your doctor. Boils can lead to secondary infections, and it may need draining.

I've only ever had 2 boils in my life and they bloody hurt. I stayed off work with the second one, it was right where the band of my bra goes and I couldn't contemplate going to work with my 36Gs unrestrained. Of course, the movement of the unleashed norks meant that it hurt even more, but it cleared up quickly.

Stay home, and I hope it feels better soon.

Is it a Bartholin's cyst/abscess? A hot compress is a must - flannels are great or even just old t-shirts if you've nothing else suitable. Make them as hot as you can possibly bear and keep reheating - try and have one pressed against the area constantly. Try to have a red hot bath too if you are able.

If you start feeling feverish/shivery, call 111 - this is really important. Also, give the GP a call tomorrow as there's a chance you might need antibiotics.

I had these for years, they just kept coming back but there's a quick 10 min op that sorts it all out with minimal downtime.

Hope it subsides soon but as I say, please call 111 if it gets worse Flowers

Is it a Bartholin cyst? I've had one of those twice in my life, absolute agony - couldn't walk properly, couldn't sit comfortably. Try a warm salt bath twice per day.

@FeelingTheBurn, I was going to suggest mag sulph paste, but wasn't sure if it was still the done thing.

It really helps draw out the gunk from boils and things. It was a staple of the first aid box when I was a kid. My poor DB used to get awful boils on his skinny little legs, where his short trousers rubbed. As soon as he got to the age where he could wear long trousers to school, he stopped getting boils. He spent half his time at primary on ABs.

Agree, it's not trivial. I had a boil under my bra strap once, I ignored it until I had a fever, it was massive and it hurt like hell to touch. My GP told me off for not going in earlier, and then again when I said I hadn't wanted to waste her time with a spot Blush
I still have a scar there now, a couple of years later.

I had this a few months back. It was a batholins cyst, lasted about a week and I could hardly walk/sit/lay down/wipe myself (had to drop dry) with out lots of painkillers, Two trips to the doctors in the end I developed a temperature and needed antibiotics. The doctor popped it for me and as she closed the window she said "Im going to drain it, scream as much as you need to don't worry. ' It bloody hurt but wow almost an instant relief. So in answer to your question if you are in pain yes call in sick!

I had this and ended up with antibiotics and advise to sit in warm salty baths a couple of times a day and to not wear pants and let the air get to your undercarriage.

Definitely call in sick, those things are bloody awful and can make you feel really poorly. Hot compresses, magnesium sulphate paste and a really hot bath will help draw it to a head and get it to drain.

As it's already burst once and then refilled, definitely consider seeing your GP (typically they will hurt like hell, burst and then feel instantly and gloriously better). It might need a course of antibiotics to clear it up.

And if you feel shivery, feverish, faint or sick then do not mess around - go straight to A&E to get checked our. The infection can spread and lead to sepsis.

Get well soon.

Just here to stay that if it bursts you need to gently squeeze it to drain it yourself. It may not fill up again if you do that.

But also, please consider calling your GP tomorrow. Antibiotics could prevent worse.

Call in sick.

Bath with Epsom salts and sit with a hot flannel on it afterwards.

Magnesium sulphate paste on it to draw everything out.

OP I feel so sorry for you and hope you're feeling better soon.

LakieLady may I commend you on your use of the words 'foof', 'draws' and 'norks'. I must associate your pattern of speech with someone lovely from my childhood because it feels like a big hug and I immediately really like you! Grin
