Did anyone else worry at 17 weeks but not no why

Hi

I'm 17 weeks pregnant with my first and I'm just wondering if there's anyone else who started to worry and panic about something going wrong at the 17 week stage of pregnancy and for no real reason?

I appreciate pregnancy is a worrying time for all and some people are naturally more of a 'worrier' or some people have unfortunately had previous experiences which lend them to worry more but this isn't the case for me. Usually I'm rather carefree and so far haven't had any real 'worry' about my pregnancy until recently.

Had an 8 week scan and a 12 week scan and all good and well considered a low risk pregnancy. Just now waiting for the 20 week scan.

I keep having feelings of worrying something's gone wrong and I don't know about it. I don't even know if missed miscarriages happen as late as 12-17 weeks and i haven't had any symptoms of anything going wrong, no bleeding or anything, still got mild nausea every now and then. (Had very bad nausea from week 6-13). I am also starting to show but only a little and more so in the daytime/evening after food!

So I don't really know why I'm feeling like this and wondered if anyone else felt like this? I also haven't felt any movement or bubbles or butterflies feelings yet but I know for a first pregnancy it's still early for that.

Any advice or reassurances would be greatly appreciated or tales of similar fears!

Thanks

17 weeks is a funny time because the initial nausea is wearing off but you still can’t feel the baby and the bump isn’t very obvious (well guest anyway).

It’s normal to worry. Try not to. Chances are everything’s fine.

First things first, MIL had a mc at 14 weeks and said there was very much a body that passed so if you haven't had any bleeding try not to worry.

As the PP said it's a weird time as many symptoms have stopped but you havent got much of a bump yet. I had flutters from 13 weeks which felt reassuring. At 18 weeks I started to feel a bit breathless at times which I checked out and is normal apparently but gave me waves of anxiety. I found slowly drinking water helped as I slowed down and it was worse if I got dehydrated.

Thanks both, that's what I was thinking that it's not as 'easy' to have a missed miscarriage at this time and taking some reassurances from that!

Thank you

It's natural to worry. Once the scan is done, you'll probably have a brief respite and then you worry about premature birth, counting movements, the pause between putting the doobrey to your belly and finding the heartbeat, the baby being too big or too small, what position the baby is in, whether the Braxton Hicks are labour, what labour/a section will be like, etc, etc.

It's what we do. We worry. And in the midst of worries, you get those lovely moments where you are alone with your child inside you, where you can feel their responding to sounds and movements (hiccups are hilarious the first few times, but if they go on, they can get irritating!) and you look forward to the day you hold them for the first time.

Thank you @MitziK so much to worry about! And I guess the worrying likely never stops! The beauty of having children!
