AIBU to be really annoyed with my upstairs neighbours we are in a lockdown and they are having a garden party with people from the street. I haven’t seen my family or been out in 9 weeks and they are having a fucking party. Do the lockdown rules not apply anymore.

There are always people who break the rules. Lock down is still in effect. But my neighbours who have a bouncy castle and are having a birthday party for their child also seem to think they are exempt. Most of us are behaving properly.

@Pipandmum I’m just really fucked off with them I have been following the rules and kept myself and my family safe. I really miss all my family and they think it’s fine to have garden party I don’t understand the mentality of some people.

My next door neighbours have had many garden parties, barbecues and grandkids visiting for the entire lockdown. I am fed up of hearing the kids screech and their family and friends yell while I am working from home. I have started to look forward to it raining. Don't think there is anything I can really do. It is very galling as I haven't seen my own mum for what, 9,10 weeks now.

@BobbinThreadbare123 it’s appalling and makes me angry I’m sticking to the rules and other people think it doesn’t matter. Let’s hope it’s starts raining soon. I really miss my family would love to be able to see them. What happened to gunning people for breaking the rules.

Good on them. It's a Bank Holiday with lovely weather and they are making the most of it.

There are no rules against going out or against seeing family (technically 1 on 1 in public).

We consented to the rules being put in place in order to prevent the overloading of the ICU beds and ventilators. As the numbers are way way down we no longer consent to draconian rules.

Where abouts are you that you haven't been out for 9 weeks? You are allowed out to meet up with 1 person.
Dd's BFF was dropped off in our St today. They sat 2 m apart and had a good catch up.

Go out there and join them.

It might cheer you up.

Call 101 immediately. They must be stopped unless they have immediate childcare issues or need to go out to test whether they have recovered from feeling poorly. In that case, it's okay and move on

YANBUt

Parties are not permitted and they're selfish & ridiculous. Hive fools an inch they'll take a mile and the morons in here prove that.

Still doing what you're doing will help to keep your family from getting it. Sadly that's all we can do, you can't stop idiots behaving idiotically.

@IncrediblySadToo thank you it’s just really annoyed me because I haven’t been able to see my parents for 9 weeks because they have been told by the doctors to shield for 12 weeks and I have asthma so I’m not leaving the house. It’s people like us who follow the rules that end up ill and people like them who manage to avoid it.

They're cunts, put simply. I have neighbours having a party right now and someone is coughing. You can't argue with stupid.
