I'm posting her for traffic. I decided to wash my windows and I look out to find next door visitor has completely blocked me despite the fact no one is on the drive and plenty of other places. I'm fuming and thinking of making an excuse to get them to move. Attached photo of their CF

I would definitely come up with an excuse to make them move!

Even if it means just driving around the block ‘to the cash point’ or to make sure your battery is ok in lockdown

Go round and tell her to move the bloody car right now

I'm wondering if they had multiple visitors and wanting to aware they come to my house complete selfishness. I'm wondering I bundle the e dc in the car and go and knock x

Go and knock. Tell them to move. Then don't go out Grin

I would definitely go out in the car just for the principle of it, get round there and tell them to shift it!

Your windows look nice and clean. Great job!

(I'd move the CF pronto,)

You don't NEED an excuse to tell someone who is parked illegally to move.

Especially when there's loads of space in front of your house. Either bang on the neighbours door or continuously toot your horn until they get the message.

Do you know someone who can park right up to bumper if the car then walk awayGrin

Tell them to move Smile disappointed there was no crudely drawn diagram though. What kind of a CF parking thread is this?! I want my money back 😂

Looks like you've got space to reverse across the lawn and park right up behind them!

Not helpful in the least but sometimes I get a bit of the devil in me when people do things that are so unnecessarily inconsiderate.

For maximum unhelpfulness and escalation I'd pop a note on the windscreen, "how do you like them apples".

Grin

If you don't need to go out why would you make a fuss?

Report
Boomclaps · 25/05/2020 14:30

Do you need to go out?
Do you get on with your neighbors?
Could they be helping your neighbors with some home help they can’t do themselves?
Could they be quietly grieving or saying bye to eachother for the last time?
Is it an emergency you need them to move?

If not I’d lay off to be honest OP.
If it’s not a regular thing and you don’t go out, why cause trouble.

It sounds more like a rushed oversight than a major CF moment.

It’s up to you but unless you need them to move it doesn’t really matter does it.

But you're not blocked in, you can drive over your lawn.
I wouldn't get het up about this if it's a one off occurrence.
Misses the point of the parking thread.

You’re being incredibly unreasonable for posting on Mumsnet about a neighbour having visitors and not frothing at the mouth about breaking lockdown! 101 now! 🤣🤣

Report
Laaalaaaa · 25/05/2020 14:44

@TheMandalorian why the hell should she drive over and risk ruining her grass because some inconsiderate idiot has blocked her driveway? I hope you’re being sarcastic.

It really wouldn't bother me unless I actually needed to get out.

Definitely go and knock, drive round the block!

Report
WarmSausageTea · 25/05/2020 14:49

It’s rude and inconsiderate, and needs nipping in the bud.

Thehop · 25/05/2020 14:50

Go and ask them to move but no need to go out.

If you don't need to go out, it doesn't really matter. Yes, they are a socially unaware idiot, but the world is full of those.

There aren't grieving they are young couple who are having a bbq with inconsiderate vistors, they have had numerous vistors throughout lockdown. Why on earth should I drive over my lawn and ruin it for some idiot who can park anywhere beggars belief I cant believe someone would suggest that.Confused

I disagree, parking in front of a dropped kerb is illegal which is why most of us would never do it. They only needed to park a few feet further back to avoid it. And seriously who the hell parks in front of someone's drive when there's a car parked on it.
