To use grandparents as childcare?

With the obvious covid-19 situation. My mum was going to do childcare for two days when I returned to work (currently on mat leave). I’ve gone back early to help as short staffed and essential role. So far managed ok between me and their dad as he’s been working from home, but this week we’re stuck on one day.

I’m thinking it’s no different to if they went to nursery, my mum isn’t in the vulnerable category she’s a teacher so still been in work some days herself.
I can say I can’t go in though, which their dad says I should go. But I know I’m needed, so feel bad doing so.

It’s fine. My daughter is being cared for grandparents while I work.

Use your common sense and do what's best for your child.

If she's happy with the situation then I would.

This is exactly why my kids won’t be going back to school in June. If the teachers can’t even abide by social distancing, what hope do we have? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Do what's best for your child. I can't imagine given what you've written you would follow the advice of someone who posted that you shouldn't ask your mum for help and stay home.

If you can stay home from work then you should. Just because Dominic Cummings is an idiots doesn’t mean it’s safe for us all to do whatever we like

I'd rather stay home and I can, but that leaves my work short staffed and struggling.

Been sticking to lockdown in every way, I just wasn't expecting their dad to be back working in the office when I agreed to work.
