AIBU?

To think if Boris won't sack Dominic Cummings then Boris should go?

Boris Johnson will have known Dominic Cummings broke all the rules of lockdown and self-isolation by taking his covid-19 wife to County Durham 260 miles away to his elderly parents' home.

Boris will have known that Dominic Cummings then went back again two weeks later.

Boris has told the rest of the cabinet to defend Dominic Cummings now he's been found out.

AIBU to think Boris should go too?

Boris was elected with a large majority

Let's see if Dominic survives the weekend before wondering more about his role.

Ah this maybe his plan... BJ was meant to be riding on the crest of a wave, Getting Brexit Done, the Churchillian hero not being PM in the greatest peace time threat and possibly responsible for 10s of thousands of extra death due to his poor decision making.

The Guardian and Mirror have played the double whammy well. Break the initial story of DC did wrong, wait for the Number 10 and cabinet support before showing it wasn't the only time. The second trip makes a nonsense of all the "understandable in the exceptional circumstances" noises coming out yesterday. It put many in the Government in a very precarious position - remember many of their voter demographic will have not seen their family for many weeks and the media has plenty of stories of people dying without their family around them.

I'd love if both of them went but, I'm not sure that even one of them will.

they've gathered around to defend him so far...

it seems they love unelected bureaucrats/ metropolitan elites and staying at home didnt mean a thing.

theyre absolutely undermining themselves but i guess theyre relying on the fact their supporters are not very bright.

I'd love to see the back of them both but I would put my house on neither of them going anywhere. This government is a brazen shower of shitbags. They will continue to do whatever the fuck they like.

He's not elected, he's come into public visibility for numerous reasons. None of them good.

An aide is by definition working behind the scenes. This is gone now so yes I'd like him to go. Boris is another matter.

It wasn't against the rules. We were all allowed to travel the length of the country while infected. And then again a week or so later for what I'm sure will turn out to be very good reasons - maybe he needed a shirt ironed by mummy? Wasn't that clear from the "stay home" message?

Where is Boris anyway? I can’t believe how Invisible he is in what is a national crisis. Where is the leadership? Of course he should sack him but I reckon he’ll cling on somehow.

I was thinking of contacting my MP, Dominic Raab, to ask about why he thought it appropriate to defend Cummings, particularly given the fact that he appeared in public day after day above a sign saying "Stay Home". When I looked him up on "They Work For You" and tried clicking the email link, this message popped up:

"Dominic Raab MP has told us not to deliver any messages from the constituents of Esher and Walton."

I can't think why Raab doesn't want to hear from his constituents at this time when he should surely be offering them maximum support.

@Acis that’s terrible. Can you not email him directly or ring his constituency or parliamentary office on Tuesday? They have to let their constituents contact them.

I've emailed my MP this morning. I've never emailed my MP about anything but I'm so angry about this. Like many had he been remorseful about his actions there might have been a bit of understanding but the arrogance and the risks the government are prepared to take to defend the actions of this man Angryit's shameful

I think Boris is still ill the dose he was injected with was too high his face has changed, you can see in his eyes he’s not right.

As for Cummings, I honestly could not care less. I wonder when Nicola Sturgeon is going to be outed for her stays with her “friend” in Elie while Peter stays at home. Or for the hairdresser visiting.

The one thing more reliable than death and taxes is the Tory party's preference for power. If Johnson does not get a handle on this quickly, he will be seen as DC's sock puppet and the country will frankly be ungovernable.

At which point the 1922 committee steps in. I wonder what Gov is doing this morning?

It's a bit daft and obviously not going to happen.
