I say during as all the articles I’ve read mentions weight gain before the period starts not during. For context I’ve forgotten to take my mini pill during the lockdown due to lack of routine (I take it to control painful periods not contraception) and now I’m having the first period in roughly 4 years 🤢. I’ve put on 7 lbs in 5 days 😩. Is this normal I’m on day 3. Thanks.

I'm not on the pill but gain 4 - 7lbs every month, my GP doesn't think its a problem but I feel bloated and have to keep clothing in 2 sizes.

7lbs is a lot even if its 'only' water weight, not fat.

I’m sure it might have something to do with the fact it’s the first period in 4 years?? My body isn’t used to it. Still feel blobby though

3 lbs, maybe 4. I am 5ft 5 and usually weigh 10 st or a bit less. I find it drops off again maybe day 4 of period. I also change into my bigger bras! Hang in there.

Well I'm due on and I feel about a stone heavier when in reality it's only a couple of lbs.

About 4lb

I’m going to try and up my water intake and see if that will help my body let go of the excess it’s clinging onto. And not forget the mini pill again.

I’ve put on about 5 lbs which is about normal for me and this is a regular period (heavy and lasts 8 days). No idea how much it would be when I have a bad one.

Anywhere from 2-5lbs...have been known to lose 5lbs overnight after my period ends! It is what it is.

It's mostly just water retention. Grin but yeah it is quite a bit for me too

Yeah I definitely feel weight gain (assume water retention) the week before my period. I don't have scales so don't know the actual amount, but jeans usually feel tighter and I just feel heavier and more sluggish.

Like we don't already have enough to deal with!

This month 1kg (2.2lb). I’m useless tracking my period as no need to so was a bit surprised. I’ll have to see what I’m like Thursday or whether it is actually proper weight gain.

Generally around 7lbs. I feel it everywhere, in my clothes particularly and as a PP said I have to keep clothes in the next size up to my regular size for my period week.

It goes down literally overnight though, piles on just before period, about 3 days in (for me) I’m going to pee every half hour or so and it all comes out in a few hours. It’s just water weight usually not fat, so won’t affect your weight permanently.

About 5lb it's awful my stomach goes huge, round and hard :( hate periods! Even more so as I have no use for all those parts now my baby days are done all seems more annoying some how 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣🤣
