Do you find it easy to pass the time?

Ex moved out a few weeks ago (we split months ago). He moved in with his parents for now, but lives 2hrs away. We both WFH so to make things easier for both of us, DS stays there for a week then comes back to me for a week.

I dropped him off yesterday. I don’t work on Mondays and I really don’t know what do with myself. I found myself so bored I logged into my laptop and did a couple of hours work just for the hell of it.

No motivated to cook or bake anything (something I usually enjoy) plus I’m trying to watch my weight. I used to game before DS but I have no motivation for that either.

Actually I just don't feel motivated to do anything right now. Even TV feels like a chore. I miss people.

Tomorrow I will work, but then I'll be stuck in the same cycle in the evening.

Do you find it easy to pass the time or is every day mind-numbingly dull too?

I suppose I’m stuck in a rut. I miss my life. It was very social and it helped adjust to single life.

Now I keep thinking about how great (in theory) it is that I have so much time to myself but I don’t have any non-social hobbies to fill it. I can’t even be bothered to workout anymore and I used to be at the gym 4-5 times a week.

Yes - I have several hobbies. I crochet, bake, and restore old furniture. I have some decorating and repairs round the house that need doing, some gardening plus two books on the go.

I also like to piss about with makeup and my hair so might try to play with that a bit.

Oh, and I have two Nintendo games I want to try but haven’t had the clear air.

I’d give my arm for some proper alone time.

I don't work on one day a week and where I used to visit my daughter and her kids, or see my parents I can't now.
So I get up early and go for a run, somewhere with a nice view to take pictures etc.
Home for a bit of breakfast and then shower so about 10am now.
Find one job you need to do in the house and do it well until lunch.
I eat lunch and watch classic eastenders Confused something to do at the mo!!
In the afternoon I watch a film or read out both usually..
I cook every night, even just for me. If you're weight watching then you can meal plan etc
In the evening I catch up on a box set, I've got huge lists saved on my phone of things I want to watch.
I go to bed about 9.
It's boring but that's life at the moment, I go shopping once a week too so you could do that on your day off?

Yes absolutely if I'm on my own. I read, cook, watch tv, potter in the garden. Love it! I'd cut my right arm off for some alone time right now

Hair and makeup is a good idea! I have loads of products and don’t really know how to use them effectively.

Meal planning is good too. I put on about 5-7lbs since lockdown started so I’m trying to get rid of that again.

I did watch some old school rom-coms last night whilst puttering around with my jigsaw. But I don’t really feel like doing anything new, although it will make me feel better in the long run.

The irony is that my job is talking about looking after wellbeing and writing loads of articles about keeping busy and taking care of Mental Health. I feel like such a hypocrite right now.

I find it much much too easy to pass the time doing nothing very much.
