Ours has been out last couple of nights apparently there is no rule to say they can't be operating my local council have advised.

Ours is out selling pre-made I've cream in tubs, loo roll, bread, milk, cleaning stuff, frozen food and other stuff for those who can't get to the shops easily or dont want to go. No kids allowed, keeping apart in the queue & contactless payment. I think it's a great idea!

Same here, and he parks in his usual spot...right outside our house ><

Thankfully our kids understand that they won't be getting anything from him for the time being!

What exactly are you worried about?

I bought my daughter a slushy while out on a walk. Paid by contactless.

Seems very superfluous under the circumstances.

Why? Don't we think the poor kids deserve an ice cream at the very least whilst living through this?

@willowufgood

So mean!

Yep, ours has been out for a couple of weeks now. I am not sure whether he is doing any business as I still prefer Lidl`s Grin

If you pay contactless then they’re not really breaking the governments guidelines because they only offer take out. Only thing is you can’t exactly stand 2M apart while they pass you an ice cream...

Our local one hasn't stopped during lockdown at all. I hear it every day!

Many ice cream vans have those holder things that they put ice cream cones into.

I have to admit it's been strange this spring not to hear an electronic jingly version of 'The Teddy Bears' Picnic' every afternoon at what would be school chuck-out time. I don't think our very own Mr Frostie has dared come out yet.

Ours been coming round since Easter. I had never thought of an ice cream van as a worrying sign.

Means the drug supply is refreshed.
TBH the 1st 2 weeks were bad but after that they drugs seem to have been flowing freely.

@smokescreen Honestly, I don't give a damn. We've always got ice creams and/lollies in the freezer so it's not like they've ever gone without.

Plus, he always comes within half an hour of the youngest's bedtime, so she wouldn't be getting a butt load of sugar then anyway!

Why?

As per the guidance those who cannot work from home are allowed to work Hmm

Seems very superfluous under the circumstances.

Why?

You can still buy puddings and treats in the supermarket.

As long as they're taking measures to keep people socially distanced I can't see the problem.

Ours has milk, bread and other essentials

Ours has been round every day since Wednesday.

I understand that they have to make a living, and I know it's allowed (and even that they're taking extra precautions), but the jingle just seems a little like the child catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang right now Wink

Government propaganda has clearly worked well on me Wink

I've seen another post about the mention of ice cream vans and drugs what's that about ?

Report
YetAnotherSpartacus · 16/05/2020 13:29

Where are they getting the drugs from? I thought that the supply was very much interrupted.
