I've managed to get a slot! Very excited, mostly at the prospect of buying nappies which are not £10 a pack from Amazon. Just given birth so haven't been going to the supermarket but living off local deliveries and Brexit stash.

Does anyone know how literally they interpret the 3 of any tin rule? Can I buy 3 smartprice tins of tomatoes and 3 regular?

Also what should I buy?! What have you been missing? I'm going to go so hard on the snacks. My stash woefully included no biscuits or fun food.

I don't think the 3 items rule exists still. At least it doesn't on my app

A few friends of mine have been doing online shopping with Asda, Tesco and Iceland. Tesco have a 3 item limit. What made me laugh and you will probably laugh too, was that they even restricted it to fruit and veg. My friend ended up with 3 potatoes and 3 carrots!!

They’ve lifted the limits on a lot of stuff. It’s all computerised so if it lets you select them then you’re allowed them; they’re not going to stop you after that.

Although you may find they don’t have what you want when they’re delivered and you end up with substitutions/missing items.

Burplecutter It does, but only for certain items like toilet roll, soap, pasta etc.

The 3 item rule exists on.some items. You won't be able to go beyond 3 on the drop-down menu.

It's per item so for example I've added 3 tins of chopped tomatoes and 3 times of chopped tomatoes with garlic, with no problems :)

Nuii ice creams 🤤

Managed to get a tesco slot before! Single mum with no car so this is an absolute god send right now I've not seen an available slot for so long. 3 rule still applied when I was getting beans, chopped tomatoes and baby Wipes.
Got essentials plus lots of toddler snacks, some tasty chocolate treats and a couple of bottles of wine for me Grin

Just to warn you - whether you get your delivery in bags or not depends on the delivery driver.

Oh and be careful about amending your order as their system randomly screws up.

I got an ocado slot for 2 weeks time so I totally understand your excitement. It's the 6-7am slot though so I'll have to set my alarmShock. I've got flour and tinned tomatoes ordered. I haven't had those for weeks, I just hope they actually arrive!

Asda only have 3 item restrictions on certain things, like bleach and handwash etc but you are only allowed up to 10 of everything else for home delivery.

Well done with getting the slot- I think it works well- the way they handle items not available when they come to charge can be confusing till you get used to it.

There are several items that are hardly ever available e.g. flour and liquid soap, and rice recently in my area.

For soap it's 2 items. I.cannot remember limits on other items now...

It still applies to things like pasta, rice, tinned food and annoyingly enough noodle cups. I wish i could buy 10 japanese beef noodle cups right now.

They will not take back substitutes, so make sure you tick off the list for anything you really don’t want a swap for. Most of my subs have been fine and sometimes even an upgrade for the same price.

If you do get subs you don’t want, you can’t give them back but you can still claim a refund on them (same applies if something is damaged or very short dated). You just request it online from the order page once it’s been delivered.
