Not an AIBU, but posting for traffic. DIY bleach job at home on very dark hair - any hairdressers around?

Hey, posting here as no responses in S&B or chat.

I’ve found a colour (colours?) I quite like but it’s a lot lighter than my natural hair colour - I’m a very dark brown. I’ve attached a picture and would be really grateful if someone would be able to tell me what style of colour technique this is - I usually have baby lights and balayage in warmer tones, but I can’t quite tell from this pic (and it may be a combination of lots). The pics are the hair aspiration and from a colour chart where I think my natural colour is around 4/71. I know it won’t be achieved immediately, would need bleaching, but would like an idea of how to explain to my hairdresser when they’re allowed to trade again. I appreciate that this may be some time - might attempt DIY! Thanks in advance.

Just 2 things.....

Do not attempt at home.
Take the photo to your hairdresser.

Don’t try and DIY that.

It'll only end badly. Don't do it.

Omg do not attempt at home.. bleaching hair from that dark will always go orangey the first time and your hairdresser will be able to tone it properly and apply it without any harsh lines. Might take a few goes to get the lightness you want. Just take the pic to the hairdresser

Did no one read the OP? She's not looking to do it herself, she wants to know the name of the technique so she can tell her hairdresser

@Queenofthestress did YOU not finish reading the OP where she said she might attempt DIY?

She said she might DIY depending on when hairdressers reopen. I wouldn’t though.

The title and the last sentence say she might attempt this at home?

Yes, I was considering DIY after watching loads of YouTube how to guides. It looks like hard work and I don’t know enough about colour theory or application to do this myself. I blow dried my hair last night for the first time in forever and it took ages, so I don’t think I’ll be doing this on my own. Thanks for your replies, you’ve saved me from a disaster!

My hairdresser said July is likely. But they will have a huge backlog from march onwards.

@Janaih Yes, mine updated Facebook suggesting it may be 4th July and all those who had their appointment cancelled will be contacted first to get booked in. I am hoping they can open for colour and not just cuts without a finish.
