AIBU?

To wonder how it works with celebrity surrogates

Just reading about Robbie Williams and his wife welcoming their 4th child and second surrogate

What do children 3 and 4 grow up thinking?

Their parents can clearly have children naturally but chose not to, favouring the surrogate route.

They’re not the only ones either

Is this just the ultimate example of what wealth can buy?

How do you know they were able to have their third and fourth child naturally but just chose not to?

I'm sorry do you know their medical history on a personal level? Do you know for a fact that they can 'clearly have children naturally but choose not to'? No? STFU then.

I don't blame his wife for not wanting to go through labour around him again after he posted that video of himself acting like a total nobhead when she was in hospital.

Maybe

Maybe they can’t have any more kids naturally

They’re not the only ones though

Like I say, it just makes me wonder

How many ‘normal’ people would chose children 3 and 4 via a surrogate unless they were absolutely loaded

He has turned into an absolute twat since he’s been with her

How do you know she didn’t go through an early menopause. Or needed a hysterectomy after the birth of her second child? Just because they haven’t chosen to share the information doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist!

Takes one to know one I guess

I would have loved 4 children. After horrendous hyperemesis I stuck at 2. If I was rich and could have impregnated a surrogate with an embryo created by me and DH I may very well have considered it. I don't know because it was never an option but I can absolutely understand circumstances where I might.

They have the money to extend their family, so what? I am pretty sure I’ll only be able to have one as I am pushing 40 and live in an expensive area with an average salary job, but if I had the money I can’t say I wouldn’t go down the same route as them.

If he hadn’t met her, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’d be dead by now. He wasn’t in a good place before they met.

Exactly my point - it seems that money buys you these choices

Are you thinking of Kim Kardashian as the other ones. I was like oh god paying someone else to do the hard work for 9 months after seeing how crap it can be. But she genuinely has some horrible problem with how the placenta forms. Someone will come along who knows as I can’t be arsed to google but - placenta area something. As I can remember I think it can be life threatening to the Mother and generally happens in all subsequent pregnancies from what I read.

RW wife is an older mother (said as an ‘older mother) unfortunately we can have a really shit time with pregnancy and childbirth I nearly had to have a hysterectomy after a severe bleed after delivery, so could have happened. I don’t want to have another pregnancy after that.

Regardless of whether or not they could have had more children naturally using a surrogate is deplorable. They are literally harvesting another womans body to fulfill having the family they desire and the only reason they can do this is because they are wealthy.
Money talks in many disguisting ways and this is just one of them.

Yes twiglet I was

But don’t the rest of us have to concede it’s not meant be rather than ‘buy’ a bigger family

Money always brings more opportunities though - how many chances of IVF do you get on the NHS? And how many can you have if you have or can spend the money?
'Twas ever thus, people with more money always have more chances and opportunities.

I think they've had the same surrogate for both children, so she's obviously been happy with how the process went between the couple and herself. Although I'm not going to comment on the rights or wrongs of surrogacy. Yes, obviously the money opens up the option for them, but there are other people who have surrogates and aren't celebs. However they do have the financial means that all 4 of their kids will be very well provided for. There's plenty family's with 4 kids living on/under the breadline which I would say is more detrimental to children's well being. Robbie's wife is 40 so that's probably limiting her options too.

after the first surrogate child was born, they spoke about their struggles to conceive naturally, think there was some medical problems from what i can remember.

Plus I'm a bit 🙄 to the comment 'what do the children 3 & 4 grow up thinking'? Are you implying they'll feel or be classed as 2nd best? There's plenty of families consisting of both biological and adopted children, who hopefully would never feel their families felt like that.
