AIBU?

To want to know what's in the bag!?

Next door neighbour has taken in a lodger. The lodger is from one of the very.... well known families in the town. Every one of them was the most badly behaved lad in their school year in high school and has continued in that vein into adulthood.
To be fair, apart from the swearing in the garden, which we can ignore because the kids are past the age of playing in the garden and we don't sit in the area next to where they sit... and the odd midnight karaoke session when the house owner is away... they have been no trouble.

For the last few days, on the top of the porch roof, directly under the lodger's window there's been a supermarket carrier bag. I'm intensely curious as to what's in it and why it's been put out of the window onto the porch.
It's still there. AIBU to wonder what's in the bag? What could it be?

One of my au pairs when I was younger used to put her orange juice on the kitchen roof below her bedroom window, until we insisted she was very welcome to use our fridge.

But given it's a not a sweet gap year student wanting practise English, but a rather more...colourful individual, I can't imagine the contents is as innocent.

Might be something grim like rotten rubbish that he cba to take downstairs yet.

Or something smelly he doesn't want everyone to know is in the house. Weed perhaps?

Maybe hes on a health kick and has some fancy yoghurt he doesn't want nicked out the fridge?

Stinky or wet footwear?

My Chinese housemate used to put chicken outside to “cure” for a week or two before eating it. I bet it’s alcohol though.

I was originally wondering if it was rubbish.

But I'm veering more towards stinky trainers as the bag has stayed put on a breezy day, so nothing insubstantial.

It could, of course, be a bag full of the empties that we hear rattling when he's moving stuff around in his room!

Very tempted to 'accidentally' find it on the lawn somehow, but wouldn't.

Milk. He's got a kettle in his room and can't be arsed to walk downstairs to the fridge.

When I was younger and lived in a house share I'd often use my Juliet balcony as a personal fridge during winter as it meant things were kept cool, didn't go missing from the communal fridge and I could have a cold can of coke/beer etc whilst procrastinating on Netflix working without having to leave my room.

Very common thing in Scotland to hang your beer from the offie out the window at a party to keep it cool as fridge was normally full..

Do those who are saying weed or skunk know how small a bit of cannabis is? A block of resin or pack of grass will only smell if you hold it to your nose and is easy to keep in a tobacco tin.

I reckon some kind of drinks to keep them cool.

Not if he's got a kg of it.

If he's from a notorious family then he's hardly going to hang weed outside as an advert for the police. It'll be milk or beer.

He probably shot some game and is hanging it outside his bedroom window for a few weeks.

Right op.... Its dark now so sneak out and climb on the porch roof to get it! Wear some black clothes if possible and also climbing gear if you have that handy... then come back and report what is in the bag Grin you know its the right thing to do! Grin
