AIBU?

To be annoyed at CF parking

Gotten home from school drop off and a bit of shopping to find an unknown white van parked on the drive outside my house. No sign of anyone anywhere, loads of public places to park. It’s been there an hour now. I am tempted to block him in but don’t want to wake the baby if they return banging the door down. AIBU for being pissed off - WWYD?

Give it a nudge. Might set the alarm off.

I would block them in and put a note on the windshield. If you're worried about them banging on the door, why not say in the note that you have gone out and they can call you to arrange for you to move your car.

I would try to set off their alarm too.

Yep, block him in

What will setting off the alarm achieve other than annoy everyone in the vicinity and keep the baby awake.

I would block him in and leave a note saying you'll be back this evening.

Block him and AND set the alarm off.

Block him in for sure, then don't be around to answer the door!

I can’t understand why they have parked there at all, all a bit odd. Once the baby is down for a nap if they’re still there I might write a note and block them in

Deemail do you not check your car if you hear it's alarm?
Confused

I will have to go out anyway for pick up about 2.30pm so couldn’t black him in for long.

I wonder if they’ve mistaken your drive for a neighbours? Unless it’s really obvious that it’s not.

Report
theworstwife · 17/01/2020 11:33

It don’t think it’s the neighbours as they aren’t in and there are 2 spaces free on their drive. I haven’t seen any sign of any work men or anything. We are in a village with nothing near us to travel for. There’s a small train station but there are lots of closer places to park

I’d block them in. Their own fault for thinking they could park on your property!

Shove a potato up the exhaust pipe. It will stop him from being able to start his van and he'll never work out what's wrong with it. He'll have to get it towed.

I don't mean this to sound like I have actually done this to a CF who persistently blocked my access. No. I would never do something terrible like that. Grin

Just block them in, I don’t know what setting off the alarm would do other than annoy you.
Does anyone even know what their own car alarm sounds like?

Yes, you are being totally unreasonable... Hmm

Our drive is obviously ours as it goes around the front and to the side of our house - they’ve parked at the front outside my front door

I guess the unreasonableness is how annoyed I am despite it not really inconveniencing me - I could still park down the side of the house. My DH thinks I would be unreasonable to block them in

Put a note on the driver's door.
Hi , sorry you seem to have parked on my drive, is there a problem?
