AIBU?

To think that this isn't the best outfit for school?!

Went into school for an assembly on our school's Christmas jumper day & one of the staff had a jumper dress on & boot style shoes (photos attached from a website so not actual staff member).

Aibu in thinking that it isn't really appropriate) practical for school when you're teaching small children?

I know "clothes are clothes" & all that but can't help feeling this was a bit much.

To think that this isn't the best outfit for school?!

Was she showing her pants or something?!

Give over.

It's hardly a reindeer thong.

It’s a Christmas dress what’s the problem?

Depends how short it was from a practical perspective but otherwise wouldn't have any issue with this.

Oh my goodness is that all you have to worry about. My son had a gorgeous young teacher for the last few years who would have completely bricked that outfit. She was also an amazing teacher and the kids LOVED her. Sadly she's moved away.
Focus on the important things - is your child safe, happy and learning? If so chill out.

It’s not that bad. I’d probably go for tights rather than bare legs like the model, but if the theme was festive she probably hit the brief fine.

Looks ok to me but the shoes appear uncomfortable and are of the style that make legs look chunky.

Oops typo...Rocked the outfit not bricked it.

Bare legs??? And peep toes! Id say that’s not the best outfit for December!
Jumper dress with thick tights perfectly ok but with bare legs it seems a bit odd for daytime/work.

Unless she was going commando and had folded it over a belt it looks fine to me.

It’s one day, when they’re asked to make the effort to dress festively. I’m sure the kids loved it. Let it go.

What exactly are you objecting to? Was it too short? Too long? Too pale? Too stylish? That she didn't look like a stereotypical teacher? What's impractical about it? It's a dress and open-toed boots. Hardly showing her boobs in a clinging minidress with fishnet stockings and 6 inch red stilletos!

Did she have tights on? All I can think is she would have been cold with no tights but otherwise I can’t get excited over it.

She has clearly had some effect on you for you to complain about it on here
I think it looks nice.

It's a dress with boots. Why's it a problem? Unless it was short and showing every thing but that's an issue with any dress, surely?

GrannyBags · 14/12/2019 13:39

Is it the length that bothers you?

Report
churchandstate · 14/12/2019 13:40

That actual dress, or some other jumper dress?

Report
Sawwhet · 14/12/2019 13:41

I wouldn't wear anything that short unless my legs were covered if I were a teacher. Didn't she have leggings on? Bit cold.

LoonyLunaLoo · 14/12/2019 13:43

With tights on= fine
Without tights= a bit much.

Report
LolaSmiles · 14/12/2019 13:43

That exact outfit isn't school appropriate due to the length and the shoes probably being impractical, but as you say that's not what the teacher was wearing.

But there's no reason a jumper dress and ankle boots wouldn't be totally ok.

Not something I’d wear but I see no issue with tbh... especially if tights were worn 🤷🏼‍♀️

Not the best outfit for school:
it's white - have you been in a primary school recently?!
no pockets
the jumper dress element will get clicked on every dodgy bit of uneven furniture going

Or was that no what you were getting at?!

I got greeted by a head in a red wig with a pair of y-fronts on his head one morning on supply teaching.

It’s not practical for sitting on the floor unless worn with leggings. But I’ve said yabu for caring. Small children don’t care....

Yeah because all the little kids will be distracted,

Seriously get a grip.

I hate to ask as it's an easy fall back, but I can only assume you're either someone who is so prudish they think that every teacher should dress like miss jean Brodie or you're jealous of this woman as you perceived her to be attractive.
