AIBU parents friend released from prison

This is slightly long and complex but I will keep it as concise as I can for clarity. Parents are mid 60s. They often pick up the childcare slack for their grand children aged 1-15. The grandchildren are from their 3 daughters A B and C. Yesterday A B C were at their parents for a few drinks to celebrate a birthday. C says that the parents have to tell A and B something, and that C has been quite forcefull that they must share this information with A and B....the undercurrent being that if she had not forced their hand, they would have kept this information to themselves. Parents then procede to tell A and B that their Old Family Friend (OFF) has been released from prison and came to see them that day while they had one of the grand children in their care. Then C turned up with her child while he was in their home. OFF was only ever the parents friend, never A B C and A and B often raised concerns about him pre 2010. Then he went to prison for bigamy, rape and abuse. Parents continued to visit him and refused to bellieve that he had done anything wrong and would be released at any point . OFF is the biggest bullshitting conman ever. He lived with the parents briefly in 2009-2010 and stole money, stole much needed psyciatric drugs belonging to A, lied about working as a HSE, and generally took advantage of them. He is incredibly manipulative. A and B feel that their parents are no longer taking the childrens safety seriously, they most certainly do NOT want their children around this man but parents say that it is their home and they will choose who is allowed in it. They say they are not putting the children at risk. A and B are devastated as it very much feels like OFF is being prioritised above their relationship with their parents and grandchildren. It feels to them asthough he is more worthy of their time and he is being prioritised above their children's safety. Parents say that as probabtion said he needs to be supervised around children, and he IS supervised around the children then that is fine. A and B say no, he has no part in our lives at all and thats that. So A and B now feel they have no choice but to pull back from their parents and go low/no contact and stop all childcare. C says we are being dramatic. Foor extra context, and if its relevant C currently has a 1 yo and her partners child with his ex is currently under SS . A and B feel that SS should be notified but now the parents and C are threatening blue murder as they may end up with Cs baby under SS too but they still refuse to stop seeing OFF. If you got through that, well done. So, what would you do?
