AIBU?

AIBU to be shit scared of BJ winning the next election?

Not sure how everyone else is doing, but I am just increasingly terrified about the idea that BJ and the likes of Jacob Rees-Morgan, Ian Duncan Smith (god they are just so disgusting Angry) are going to win this election. Got family in Australia and this morning it was raining ash and people literally can't breathe. The Tories are going to do nothing, zero, nada about climate change. And when I look at my kids I just don't know how we are going to survive another five years. and don't get my started about the state of the kid's school - the teachers are doing their best, but the reality is it's a shit show bc of how many cuts they have had. Friends are going canvassing for Labour and me and DH are doing our bit too - but it all just feels surreal - BJ talks shit, tells lies, and has reinvented himself as "new" when the fucker has been IN GOVT for years. Any got any ideas on how we can turn this around?

I agree. Horribly scary.

You are hysterical and your ideas are totally skewed. Do you think JC would be good for the country/economy/etc. A big No. We would be down the drain in no time and with absolutely no funds for climate issues. Get a grip and inform yourself properly.

I'm more scared about JC and the uncertainty about Brexit if he gets in.

Not at all. Saw this going round Facebook the other day www.nhscuts.org.uk/ and it shows how much your local hospitals are being underfunded. It's terrifying to think that the next time my mum gets ill the NHS might not be able to help look after her.

I’m more scared of Corbyn winning to be honest.

YABU. Stop listening to and propagating this hysterical bullshit.

Personally, I’m pretty concerned about what will happen if there is a hung parliament under J.C. Not because I think he is the anti-Christ, mostly because I think he is incompetent and can’t get a grip on the anti-Semites in his party. I also think he will quite happily sell the U.K. as a whole down the river in a distinctly undemocratic manner to get the support he needs from the SNP to get into power. I’m also concerned about his economic policies, which have been pretty conclusively discredited by some pretty heavyweight organisations. I also think his parties policy on Brexit will lead to years more inertia (whilst he renegotiates yet another deal) which will be pretty damaging to an economy which is going to be reeling from
the impact of implementing Labour’s Socialist utopia.

But I’m not starting hysterical and inflammatory threads about being “shit scared”. Because I’m a grown up and I’d like to let people make up their own minds from the facts available rather than trying to scare them into voting the same way as me.

Hope the coffee is good over there in Momentum HQ.

Well..choices aren't great....but anything beats an anti Semite and his thugs occupying number 10. Having done Auchswitz recently, JC and Momentum just make me feel physically sick

Oh....and the details of the EHRC investigation evidence was leaked today and apparently horrifying. I could never vote Labour again h less something dramatically changed

How are future measures taken in the UK about climate change going to affect the current fires in Australia?

I just read this long article on healthcare for pregnant women in texas where there is little or no insurance. It is BAD

www.vox.com/science-and-health/2019/12/6/20995227/women-health-care-maternal-mortality-insurance-texas

And this is the kind of system that BJ and many of the extreme tories favour.

Totally not unreasonable. I’m very unsettled by it all especially the NHS being sold off and brexit

CendrillonSings · 06/12/2019 11:10

Nope, much more scared of Corbyn winning the election, given that Labour is infested with antisemitism and will drive the economy into bankruptcy.

Report
PunkAssMoFo · 06/12/2019 11:11

The megalomaniac that is Jeremy Corbyn would be far far worse. It will be a glorious race to the bottom.

We’re goosed whatever happens. Let’s hope labour can find a better leader so that they are electable in future.

YABU and hysterical.

If you think Corbyn and his twisted mob of economically-clueless, anti-semites will help the country let alone the planet, you need help.

Well if Jezza gets into power thanks to an informal deal with the SNP (which is looking like the only way currently), will you be scared then? The SNP have been rated worst of all the major parties by Greenpeace for their green policies.

BJ scares the shit out of me.

Corbyn is far preferred. Plus being pro-Palestine as opposed to a Zionist doesn't make you an anti-Semite.

Because of swathes of England voting Tory we are saddled with those bloated, gas-bagging freaks up here in Scotland.
Anyone, anyone is better than Tory and Brexit. It's beyond me how anyone can't see that.
Lies, propoganda, inequality.
At least Corbyn cares to some degree about social equality.
Those who vote Tory should be ashamed. Don't know how you can live with yourselves. People literally dying, NHS being sold off (factually true, I have medics in family)
If England want to take yourself to the dogs, make your bed and lie in it
And I'm English but live in Scotland

@parietal

the bit you left out of your texas thing, is geography. And federal funding.

That's right. Texas is the state that borders Mexico. Every pregnant Mexican woman gets automatic medicare rights. And her child is automatically an American citizen with rights to education etc.

All paid for, by who?

Texas.

I am sure you know that famous quote:

“Funded by the government just means funded by the people. Government, by the way, has no money. It only takes money from the people. Sometimes people forget that that’s really what occurs.”

Yes, that is right, THE TAXPAYERS OF ONE STATE, TEXAS (not the USA) bear the brunt of uncontrolled immigration.

ScreamingLadySutch · 06/12/2019 11:27

Sorry, every pregnant immigrant ... (the Texas border is the conduit for South America) ...

Try reading "Why do we get the wrong Politicians" by Isabel Hardman. It is sad and scary.

I too fear that BJ and his cronies will get in. I do not want a coward, liar and cheat at the helm.
