So ive started a relationship with a wonderful guy and I'm wondering if my feelings are blossoming too quickly. It's been weeks but i have more in common and "click" with him more than anyone I've ever met. So I'm asking....

How long into your relationships did you feel/know you were in love?

Xxx

Don't know but wondering the same thing, I don't remember feeling this much so quickly with my stbexh. It's only been 3 weeks! I'm sitting daydreaming at work (not good!)

I honestly knew within weeks of seeing him.

I had previously been married, and but dud not love my first DH. Classic case of teenage pregnancy, better get hitched.

When I met my now DH, I loved him almost from the off. I honestly can say I haven't loved anyone else. No other man has made me as sad, or happy, or angry or excited as he has. I look at him 12 years on and see him as so beautiful. Our friends say he is definitely punching above his weight. But I don't care. I love the bones of him.

I just knew.

But if anyone else told me that, I would laugh them off the planet 😂

@CatToy I know what you mean. My stbexh was my teenage love, I suppose I was in love with the idea of being in love, fell pregnant in early 20's got married, life was good but love? Just 8 weeks after I met my new man, and 3 weeks after meeting him in person I can see myself growing old together - and it's mutual, he's discussing extended holidays in our retirement, 15 years off! Maybe there is love at first sight after all, or text in my case. I fell for his profile!

I knew within 2 weeks, we both did. That sounds crazy, I know, but nearly 10 years later we're still together, happily married, and I wouldn't be without him.

I knew I'd be married to my now husband after 3 weeks. We said we loved each other after 3 months. Sometimes you just know. But I'd been through a very nasty breakup before him and spent a year on my own deciding what were non negotiables in a relationship. As long as you're not jumping into something straight after another relationship and try to take things slow then why not?

Remember, you won't get this honeymoon period again with this relationship, so enjoy it and relish every moment! It's great having this at Christmas smile

On our third date. I actually thought’i’m going to marry him’ and I did. He goes out of his way to make me happy.

I knew from the first few dates we went on that I would end up married to him. A few weeks after we met he bought me a book and that cemented the deal. We are married 10 years this year with kids and I still love him as much as when we first started the relationship. When I look back on it now all the other relationships prior to meeting my dh were more like obsessive teenage first love. This one was immediately different.

The first date we were both on the most incredible high after and have both said we knew something very special was going on - I think it was the 4th date about two weeks later we went away for the weekend and it was very obvious it was love.

I'd been in love before but nothing compares to this, it's like I need a whole new word for it. He is the best and kindest person I know. We both say often we can't quite believe it sometimes.

Ahhh this is all so lovely to hear. it's been about 8 months since me and my ex-husband broke up and I've dated/slept about a little since but when I met this guy... it's just... I feel things I r never felt with anyone. Im sceptical on why I'm feeling so strongly so quickly but I like him... alot

Pretty much straight away. I considered that I might need help as it wasn't normal. I felt sick most of the time with excitement.
He felt the same. We both admitted we considered ending it as it was so intense.
We have been married ten years on Christmas Eve. 😃

From date one I knew I was ‘in trouble’, when we’re together/when I think I about him I either feel sick or my stomach goes all flippy. If he asked me to marry him I would probably skip straight down to the registration office. I once said to him “you make me feel sick” took a while to get over the embarrassment of that.

When I smiled all the way home from our first date and was still smiling and excited when I woke up the next morning. He proposed a month later so I guess it was the same for him.

Pretty much straight away I felt it but I didn’t realise what the intense emotion at the time was u but il I admitted it to myself a few weeks later.

I’d met him physically in the pub for the first time after he asked me for a drink. We had been chatting a few weeks. I was feeling shaky and pulled a tangerine out of my pocket and he automatically held his hands out to hold my peel blush

That’s when I knew.

MsMellivora Wed 04-Dec-19 09:05:26

When it scared me. The thought of not being with him felt overwhelming. Had certainly dated and a couple of my boyfriends had asked me to marry them and they were decent guys and would have made good husbands but I need time apart and doing my own thing.

He and I get each other, I adore DH but I still need time alone as does he,

We have been together for 22 years and married for 20.

I still feel as if he is the only man that suits me If I end up alone I doubt I would bother with another man. DS says we are like a pair of old comfortable slippers the left and the right, a matching pair.

MsMellivora Wed 04-Dec-19 09:10:47

I should add we were friends for two years before we dated and had both been in love with each other for months before we even dated. We worked together in a University department which was very sociable. We were out on works outings almost every week.

Very early for me too.
Just go with it. You really don’t need a label. If he makes you feel good, he makes you good and that’s a fantastic.

I can tell you the day, and even the hour! We met in the July, and were on a trip away at the end of October. We were climbing the tower at York Minster, and he helped a lady in our group who was having quite a bad panic attack about getting to the top. He was so kind and understanding with this poor lady, and then helped her get through the return journey as well... i can pinpoint that as the moment i knew i was in love with him. He continues to be kind, understanding and bloody sexy on a daily basis, and i cant get enough of him.
