Listening to statistician on BBC who reckons the conservatives are head in all polls and will win a majority on election day.

I know only two people voting conservative (mil and dm). Who are all the other conservative voters??

Are the conservatives really going to win the election so easily?

If so...I'm very very sad Sad Wine

I don't think this election would have even happened if Boris wasn't incredibly confident about staying in. I don't think labour have done themselves any favours either

I hate to say it but I think places like MN and FB...etc can be very unrepresentative samples of the U.K.

It wouldn’t surprise me if there was a conservative majority - but I’m not sure you’re going to find them arguing over the state of the economy on MN or social media. I think they (generally) have less local presence but it certainly doesn’t mean they don’t exist!

A lot of people who vote Conservative keep very quiet about it

I have friends voting Conservative as they're afraid that Labour's plans for housebuilding could leave them in negative equity...

i don't know - most of the people on MN seem to be labour supporters, but the polls will have you believe otherwise. I myself am a conservative supporter, i only know a few labour supporters, all of whom are going to vote for the Tory's for this election.

I don't know anybody who votes conservative, I don't know anybody who voted leave in the Brexit referendum, I don't know anybody who earns minimum wage. Many of us move in circles with people similar to ourselves.

Yes they really are that popular compared to Corbyn. His insane plans to bankrupt everyone has pushed a lot of people to support Boris.

A lot of conservatives keep quiet because will be branded as 'privileged' Or elitist or not caring about people less well off etc . Hence the silent majority .

I know loads of conservatives and see posters up. The hustings i went to gave the conservative a lot of positive applause.

I imagine a lot of people who plan to vote Conservative are keeping quiet about it because they’re ashamed. They certainly should be.

I know loads of people voting conservatives. Especially now Labour are going to be taxing lower earners more. I suppose all the free stuff needs to be paid for.

I don't know anybody who's voting conservative. I mean I probably do but nobody's told me that. I only know what one person is going to vote (Labour Party member) otherwise I would not be able to tell you what people are going to be voting. I'm not sure many of them know.

Yes, in the real world they are. Half the people i know will vote Tory.

It's only on MN which is filled with Corbynistas.

In fact many people I know in the North (mining areas no less!) are refusing to vote Labour this time. Mind you if they don't vote the Tories (unlikely) they will vote the Brexit Party.

Sorry to frighten the left lot.

And I'll just add, because many of the left are aggressive and abusive, the conservative voters just keep quiet about it.

The Tory lead in the polls is weakening and there’s still more than a week to go. The fat lady’s a long way off singing.

You’re right. I live in the north east in a deprived area and they’re turning to conservatives until Corbyn is out. ‘They’re taxing low earners to give rich London commuters cheap fares’ Is one sentence I’ve heard today.
Conservatives are cutting taxes for low earners, Labour are increasing. How the Hell does this make the tories worse? Honestly, labour supporters are completely brainwashed

The vast majority of over 60s vote conservative. They are also much, much more likely to actually vote than the under 30s.

You only knowing only 2 conservative voters highlights your echo bubble , you trying to insinuate some deeper level of critical thinking shows how shallow it is when you can't even understand someone voting differently to you. You can try and go down the route of turkeys voting for christmas, thick bigots, or easily led by propaganda. All of which shows your RG degree does not give you an deeper understanding of economics or politics.

In short, these type of activist astroturfing threads need to be clamped down on.

The faux innocence is so 2010.

Spot on. Numerous people saying "voted labour all my life, not a chance now".

Can't blame them. They don't like spelky arse.

Urgh here goes ducks and covers - I’m voting Tory.
Yes I’ve read all there is to read- no I’m not misinformed. No I don’t think Tory are great but they are better for DH and I than Labour will be. Significantly.

Labour dislikes people like DH and I. We earn well but lose so much to deductions that we come out with the same as friends earning £20-£30k less. We are young and just starting out, with no help, in an expensive area so we don’t have more to give. Labour seems to paint us as villains and labour voters have such negative opinions but we both clawed our way out of poverty and are proud of ourselves.

Socially I understand that labour would be ‘better for all’ but it’s not better for us and nobody is going to thank us for taking the hit. Quite the opposite!

Why should they be ashamed? Do you really think a majority of the voting population should be walking around hanging their heads?

It's more that JC and Momentum are so unpopular... And on another fucking planet.

That echo chamber thing is so true. I didn't know a single person who voted leave (or so they said anyway) and the referendum result left me completely shocked because I was in my echo chamber and hadn't realised. I'm not so oblivious now.
