Hidden annoyances of being a single parent.

Taking stuff out of and putting stuff in the attic.
What has that got to do with being a single parent?
You should be grateful you have an attic 😂😂😂😂
When something you had has been lost, there’s no one wise to blame!
Oh I’ve got another one, when people say they are ‘like’ single parent and have no help 😬
@OhioOhioOhio I'm waiting for a visitor before I resort to chucking the tree out the loft
Lugging the Christmas tree out of the car and into the house on your own.

That's nothing to do with being a parent though is it? It must be easy to be a single parent if the annoying thing is something nothing to do with parenting at all.
When you're ill and have to deal with everybody else's illness first.
Not having enough hands during the day.
Being desperate for the kids to get to bed so you can get some peace and then missing them and hating the silence.
On the subject of Christmas trees, trying to get the bloody thing back in the box. That, and lugging out the recycling bins, are the only things I hate about being single.

@spacepyramid The point is being a SINGLE parent so posters are talking about things they can't get a OH to do.
Op 😁, bloody attic!!!
I just bought a new tree and decs this year
(I understand that this is not an option for everyone before I get flamed)
£25 P/w as exp works cash in hand and cooks up a storm with his books which the Inland Rev somehow believe (yes sure you can live off £500 p/m).
Christmas trees and so on though, they'd be just as annoying if you didn't have children, i.e. were a single adult.
It's not so much the parenting part it's the being on your own part which in op's and my case comes with DC!!
I am totally with you on this op, I have had to get my decorations down alone and am now looking at the empty boxes waiting to go back up!
Mentioned to a friend that I was going to do it this weekend to be told that she couldn't possibly go up in the loft by herself, it would be awful. Luckily she doesn't have to.
Relatable. Worth it though
"I totally understand how hard it is for you. My DP dsnt help/ works away in the week etc"
So all of these things I have to do because DH is disabled. So I have NO idea how to get the old filing cabinet down the stairs to get it out the front door. Any ideas anyone?
However i am NOT a single parent because I don’t have to cope mentally with no one to support me.

100% this. Are some posters deliberately missing the point?
On the plus side once the DC are teens (or even slightly younger) they are more than happy to go in the attic.
Hidden annoyance... being the only person here to listen to aforementioned teen talking CONSTANTLY about I don't know what. It's worse than when he was a toddler!

Oh ok then:
Lugging the Christmas tree out of the car and into the house on your own whilst also looking after DC simultaneously.
Is that ok with you? 🖕🏻
Stuff like that makes me feel like a boss! I handle my own shit. Up and down ladders, in and out of DIY shops, going to the dump, mowing the lawn. Don’t need a man to do any of that.
I also love that any mess I have is my own, I don’t have any resentment. I know I am responsible for everything. It’s so irritating when there is someone that should share the responsibilities but don’t.
@namechange4052 😂

Yes, I get that is awkward, been there and done that. You find ways round it - like have an artificial tree or do it when they are in bed.
