AIBU?

How anyone can vote Tory?

Stella8686 · 28/11/2019 23:40

After seeing some pro labour and pro conservatives posts recently I am genuinely interested to see what makes someone vote conservative

OTHER THAN

  1. Hard/ quick Brexit
  2. Looking after your own finances
  3. Hatred for Labour/ Corbyn

ABIU to not be able to think of any single other reason to vote conservative?

Don't vote, it just encourages them.

To be clear I will be voting Labour as I want to bolster public services BUT I don't like Labours manifesto (I think it's too radical/ unattainable) and although I respect Corbyn for his principles I believe the leader of the party should be less polarising as its NOT the Corbyn show, he has to lead the party and the government/ country.

I believe the country needs to sort brexit and SLOWLY get back on track not make radical spending.

I could not in good conscience vote Conservatives for many reasons but mainly that I truly believe they think the lower classes and the public services are a drain on the country. That they are out of touch, entitled and privileged and don't understand what matters to average people

  1. NHS
  2. Schools
  3. Crime and police numbers
  4. Ending child poverty
  5. Brexit sorted (either way personally)
  6. Immigration

That's my rant!!!!

You just put an x next to the candidate's name I think. I've not tried it.

By going into the polling station where, thanks to a democratic society, they can put an X down next to any name they like without fear of reprisal (which is more than what we can expect from a Corbyn government).

I usually vote for the candidate who I think will be the best MP for the constituency.

If you read my post I am actually interested as there's a lot I don't like about Labour!

It's like a dozen political campaigners knocking on your door each day, angry ranting about their pet issues.

I assuming other Tory voters do the same as me, I go to the polling station, they give me the voting paper, I go into a booth, identify the Conservative candidate and put a cross against his or her name. I then leave the booth, and the polling station and go home.

HTH

Well, I've been voting for about 40 years and as pp have said, when you are given the ballot paper you go and hide in the box, mark an X next to the candidate you want to vote for and I believe that's it job done.

Still not heard any reasonings?

You didn't ask for reasons, you just asked how could this happen

Report
Stella8686 · 29/11/2019 00:00

Convince me without using the 3 reasons above?

I get the gist of putting an x in a box.
No good arguments for the tories other than self interest yet?

I just want the Tories out so I'm tactically voting labour as they are my best bet. I dont like Corbin but hes just their poster boy. I dislike boris, hes a bumbling idiot. My parents and most others their age are voting Brexit party. I'm so over Brexit. Like I couldn't care less now what happens with that. I'm more concerned about cuts to schools, the NHS, police and fire service.

This is tedious.

I don't think that you're interested in reasons why anyone could vote for the Conservative Party. You just want to rant about those evil Tory people.

Are you incapable of making an informed decision yourself based on your own research? Or at the very least doing an advanced search on this? It's worrying that people who know so little can vote.

Labour are making promises that they are unlikely to be able to keep.
I think Labour will win and it makes me feel uneasy.

MarshmallowMuggle · 29/11/2019 00:12

You want to bolster public services and you think other people should pay for it, is that it?

Labour ranters (not ordinary labour voters, which luckily is most of them!) always seem very keen to spend other people’s money.

Other people's money?

So it's not your money for your pubic services too?

You don't use NHS?
Or public schools
Or the police/ fires service in your area?

It's your public services too

Labour aren't getting in.

Understand that. Get over it.

Got to say disappointed but not surprised!

If you are voting Tory what is your reason other than self interest/ hating labour/ brexit?
