To say that Currys are CUNTS

I'm not. The are cunts of the highest order and I rue the day I ever spent a penny of my money there. The customer service might be the worst I've ever had and I do hope that they're the next to go down the pan. Fuck you Currys. Smile

Well, that was fun. Thanks for playing, OP.

It's a long boring tale, but basically, three broken appliances within the last year. Complaints team don't answer, hang up, don't call back, or are abusive. I'm guessing their calls aren't recorded as I've just had one of the most staggering conversations I've ever had with a ' Complaints Manager', who actually made me cry. He and his colleagues actually laughed about that. Cunts.

Currys are renowned for poor customer service. Why does anybody shop there?

We had this a few years ago, our microwave kept on breaking within the year and kept on having to go back to Curry's for a replacement.

Never had an issue with them, were always helpful, got a replacement and sorted within minutes.

If they made you that upset, then complain.

Yes, more fool me for going back three times. Never again.

I did complain! It was a complaints manager who just finished me off! I don't know where to go next so I guess that's that.

I concur. I second everything you say and I await with glee the day their business fails, because they completely deserve it. And from my unfortunately extensive experience of them, about 90% of their staff would deserve it too.

No.

Email [email protected] with your co.plaint including the awful phone call. Hes the CEO and his team will sort it.

I don’t shop there for this reason. In my local two stores the sales assistants either ignore customers entirely or go for the very hard sell. Customer service is notorious with this company across the board.

The only thing they might respond to is a complaint via tweet as it’s more public.

Years ago a student friend bought a microwave from them, got it home and found the interior pebble-dashed with baked beans. When he returned it to the store they accused him of doing it himself and trying it on for a refund...despite him having a receipt and having only bought it the day before. Would never buy anything from Curry's.
Next time you call them, you record the call if you can!

Giraffe do CEO's really get involved in customer complaints? The thing is, between the three incidents, I've had lots of dealings with store, delivery and customer service employees and the service has just been shocking at every turn. I can't actually believe half of what's gone on.

They are worse than useless. I bought a tv from them online and it arrive with no remote control or plug. I had to wait for it to be collected and a new one delivered which took another 10 days. No apology at all. I have also been in my local store where the staff managed to put my purchases through the till without speaking to me once!

@QuietAndStill

As suggested contact the CEO.

I suspect that the real problem is that staff are paid poorly [minimum wage?] and only get commission on things that none of us really want like the extended warranties and so on

I’ve experienced some shocking customer service from them before. From male shop staff who ignore you and only talk to DP, to a lady on the till who sighed and acted like she was doing me a favour allowing me to exchange something which was faulty.

Report
Brimful · 21/11/2019 14:51

Completely agree! I don't buy anything from there anymore.

I'm guessing that they don't invest much in staff training.

Tweet them. If you get nowhere, write a complaints letter, photo it and post it to twitter. If that doesn’t get them moving nothing will.

QuietAndStill · 21/11/2019 14:56

I'm not on Twitter, but I've just emailed this to the CEO. Should I have included more detail? Tbh, I actually couldn't face typing out the whole sorry tale for it then just to be ignored again.

"Dear Mr Baldock

I appreciate that customer complaints are probably outwith your normal duties, but I’m contacting you in the hope that you can assist me with horrendous service I’ve received recently from Currys and the fact that no one wants to help. The matter relates to three separate faulty appliances and the absolute shameful way in which I’ve been treated. I would be very grateful for any assistance you could provide."

We used AOL ever since they were a week late and delivered a machine that had clearly been dropped - in and out not letting us look - took weeks to sort out.

PC World are a disaster area too. Overpriced, shit customer service. Repairs service is a joke. If you want computer stuff, buy it on the internet, and unless it's something high-value or new, replace it when it breaks.

I'm with you OP. Utter shambles with my laptop, they made an appalling cockup with it. It wasn't working properly and I couldn't get onto the internet, couldn't backup my files, nothing, and when the service department had it they were under strict instructions to download and back everything up that was on it before wiping it and reinstalling factory settings. Did they heck as like. I lost all my accounts and tax info (self-employed), thousands of emails, letters and photos, and years of family history research.

Utter fuckwits.
